He doesn't need permission from anyone to be concerned about people he cares about. BIGGER THAN BASKETBALL
Ramona is a POS that will do anything that will further her career and make her money. She is roundly disliked by those that work with her as she is a back stabber. No surprise she said what she said as she has zero integrity.
It didn’t use to be. I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating. Back when Akeem Olajuwon joined Ralph Sampson and a deep Rockets team, we were the toast of the sports media as it existed then. The future dynasty and beloved by the media that now scorn the Rockets and view James Harden with dismay. Smith would have been laughed out of town, had he attempted to use his schtick in 1984, a year after we had picked Sampson #1 in his draft. A sports outlet that makes a “star” out of Mr Smith is a sad, desperate thing, bereft of real quality, excepting a few who hang on, like Jeff Van Gundy. In my opinion, at any rate.
Stephen A. Smith is a throne sniffer. A well-heeled court jester. You can disagree with what Morey said or think it was impulsive, but you can't really argue he was thinking of himself in this instance. "Thinking of yourself" is biting your tongue when you see injustice or oppression because you don't want to cause minor, momentary financial discomfort to fellow millionaires and billionaires.
Deadspin probably has the best coverage of this... Link - NSFW for language No one bats an eye when sports organizations do business with repressive regimes in the first place: FIFA and the Gulf petrostates, the IOC kowtowing to Russia, WWE running shows for Saudi Arabia, basically all MMA organizations getting in bed with various Central Asian dictators and warlords, etc. It feels like that’s extremely backward, but I guess this is the state of affairs brought about by mass idiot insistence that sports can be “apolitical” in the first place.
Max is socially woke SAS not so much. So we'll see what he comes up with but I'm sure his Disney leash has already been pulled.
our government and our corporations, enrich, embolden and support many many corrupt, violent and repressive regimes across the world. Many regimes far worse than China. We should get our own act together before condemning other countries for their domestic politics. We sadly don't have the moral authority to say sh#t.
China government needs to think about whether Hong Kong administer deletes the bill can solve the problem in HK which is the same as Morey deletes the thread case. For eg. it just like a people give you a punch and then said everything is ok now. China have to satisfy the 5 demands also stop the police arresting, police violence, allows all normal traffic operations and stop to have another new bill too, it is a vicious circle and more protesters will come out in the street. For eg. people A always have egg as breakfast, you want people A to have fruit as breakfast, people A will dislike. People A wants to fight for the egg as breakfast, it is very normal. Back to Morey case, it is better to say a sorry first. I think China wants Houston to fire him, he is a good GM, it is better not to say anything about politics if he wants to earn the money from China
Except China is the only one that has the clout to enforce their authoritarianism outside their zone and into western free nations like the US. We have people afraid of criticizing the Chinese government here in the US when that shouldn't be the case and yes that has plenty to do with the greed of our most wealthy in these western nations who are never satisfied with the wealth they currently have. Also, China currently is one of the worst of the worst. Detaining 2 million humans and forcing them to deconvert from their religion and harvesting their organs is 2 hops away from a new Holocaust level atrocity.
Not contesting we have our own issues, but... it doesn't mean we stand in silence when others cannot speak out
Why is this a bad thing? Have you lived through any southern summers working outside? It's resourceful and intelligent to keep yourself inside.
