[Stephen A. Smith] If Carmelo ends up coming off the bench, there's gonna be a problem in Houston

In reality I don’t think it’s his starting position, more how many shots he gets a game, that would impact on his mentality/ego/whatever.

He’ll be fine when he realises he’ll still be a 20+ ppg guy here (if he hasn’t already...and I’m sure he has).

I'm annoyed at the bench stuff. The media really wants a story badly.

 

This is Melo's contract year. It is understandable that he wants to be a starter, plays more minutes and takes more shots.

He has high trade value but low efficiency.

 

Melo's ego leads to his success. He would have to take 20 shots to get 20+ ppg. If we want to win it all, Clint, Eric and knight would have to take more shots than Melo.

All these years, even with Carmelo’s d*** in his mouth, Stephen A. Smith still manages to enunciate.

Melo could up his value on the open market by increasing his efficiency and being a versatile scorer off the bench...maybe win 6MOY

Melo will be turning 35 this season...I assume teams would want to see if he can accept and flourish in a bench role because his days as a starter on good teams are pretty much done...if not this season, then definitely in the seasons to come

I believe I could hit 8-10 open shots a game catching passes off CP3 so I think Melo will manage.

After 33 years old, a player is more likely to decrease his efficiency ...... Melo will not increase his efficiency, but increase his Ego.

Ego is no longer E Gordon. It is Carmelo.

 

Melo wants to be a starter and signs a new contract next summer. There is nothing wrong with it.

The only thing i know is once in a blue moon this season Melo will have vintage melo nights. That is going to be fun to watch!

he can if he’s taking smarter/easier shots with the majority of them being against bench players...it’s not hard to increase your efficiency from the level Melo was at last year...if he just jumps to league average efficiency then that would be the most efficient Melo has been in 4 years

 

Haven't the talking heads constantly said Melo won't work UNLESS he's willing to come off the bench? Tell me I'm not crazy...
