It’s true. He was the first one to basically mention Lebron to Miami.

Like everyone else, he whiffs on some things, but he’s definitely not just major stuff up for the hell of it.

Paul making it seem like LA is a legitimate threat seems calculated at this point.

The Union President leaking stuff like this about one of his best friends.. hmm.

Pretty clear we're not getting a 3rd star at this point. The question now becomes do you want to really make the Ryno trade while sacrificing multiple first rounders if your best option is bringing in a JJ Redick-esque role player?

I say yes because our window is tiny, but dang...yeah...this sucks.

I'm gonna start making tinfoil hats and selling them here.

I think I'll make enough to pay off my season tickets.

That's what made the word bullsh!t come straight out of my mouth when I read it. I don't believe Chris would do that, given his position and that Morey is in the middle of trying to work out a deal or deals for "mystery player(s)." Now, if it's some part of a nefarious scheme by Morey, then OK, I'll buy it. That's not impossible, in my opinion. Morey loves smokescreens.

I'm not saying it will be Houston. Perhaps Lebron doesn't even have his mind made up making speculation up to this point moot.

Of course, we are at a big disadvantage because of the opt in and trade scenario.. I just find it odd that Paul would be telling people that. Someone mentioned maybe it's just to tell Houston to move on to other options.

Run on a track. Run in black. Run for Jack. Run with a sack. Running is wack.
    Don't matter...
    Just run it back...

You can trade Ryan Anderson tomorrow and it wouldn't really impact your resources, in terms of availability to bring in a Redick type. Rockets are over the cap, regardless. Taxpayer MLE is all there is either way. Only way you can get more resources is to let either CP3 or Capela go. Seems unlikely. I also don't see a S&T as likely, since that would hard cap the Rockets.

If LeBron and PG are off the board, I think they look at other guys with POs this year, and then potentially at 2019 FAs who might can go nuclear on their current teams the way PG did in Indiana this time a year ago.

When virtually every source is telling us that the Rockets are not going to get Lebron James, combined with the fact that we have to trade a nearly untradable contract in Ryan Anderson, it's fairly obvious.

    Scenario:
Cavs: Hey Lebron, we want you to re-sign.
Lebron: Nah man, I'm thinking California Deaming baby!
    Cavs: Well that sucks.
Lebron: OR...you could trade me if Opt-in...maybe to Houston?
Cavs: Hmmmmm.....sounds like you want to go to Houston. We are going to play a weird leverage game!
    ...CP3 enters chat...
CP3: Yo! Did ya'll hear that Lebron don't want no part of H-Town? Sucks man!
    ...CP3 exits chat...
Lebron: SEE! I don't really want to go to Houston! Only LA!
    Cavs:...
Lebron: Now, buckle in fear and trade me to Houston!
Cavs: I thought you only wanted to go to LA?
Lebron: I do! LA ONLY! CAAAAAAAAAAAALIFORNIA! Now trade me to Houston!

I still don't believe anything I hear from anybody.

I don't like Screamin A, but he clearly does have a good relationship with the players. Chris Paul leaking this info on the record is what seems suspicious. Him and LeBron are boys, and leaking this just screams ulterior motives.

Not saying he won't end up in LA (I think he will actually), but Chris Paul just saying Lebron is gonna end up there no questions asked, I'm just not buying. LeBron wants this leaked.

Dismissing an established insider like Stephen A would be pretty damn foolish. So while I wouldn't say the Rockets need to abandon a pursuit of Lebron, they definitely need to start putting more eggs in the Plan B basket.
