I would think that Chris Paul would have no interest whatsoever in the Clippers if they weren't offering the 5th year. That alone should be enough leverage.

I wouldn't like to lose neither one of those guys. But for cp3 does bev and ariza make it work while keeping Gordon and Lou?

He don't need levarage. He's made tons of money and will get 4 years offer from everyone. Clippers will give him a 5th year because the owner is one of the richest man in the world. $80 millions wasted in the last 2 years of Paul's contract won't hurt Mr Billionaire.

Balmer wants to win and he has the $$$$ to blow. Whatever Chris wants, he's going to get from the Clippers

There is a part of me that wants to crawl into a cave and come out July 3rd when the dust has settled. Then there is another part that is enjoying this roller coaster of emotions.

It was pretty much a cosmic certainty that this would happen once Holic predicted Harden was selfish and wouldn't share ball handling duties.

If only he would use his powers for good!

As someone on record that it's a VERY odd pairing... I never considered that harden was anti adding talent like Paul.... just that it's an odd pairing

At this point I'm definitely not voting Harden for player-executive of his generation or anything. The Eric Gordon move is his masterpiece, but he's swung and missed on Dwight and Lawson (by moves he heavily endorsed)

I think the Kings could take him in. A lot of their players are on rookie deals and they are a little shy of the salary floor. If they don't hit it they would have to cut a check to the league regardless. Plus Ryan is from Sacramento so it would be home to him. If a deal happens anywhere it's probably with them.

I know Harden pushed for another ball handler but I'm not so sure he pushed for Lawson specifically. That was just who was on the block at the time.

One minor reason why I would like Chris Paul in Houston is because **** the Spurs lol. It'd be really funny to know that Chris Paul chose the Rockets over them. Houston has no reason to be the front runner for the Chris Paul sweepstakes over San Antonio, but guess what? I guess Chris Paul likes Harden more than Kawhi, D'antoni more than Poppovich, the way the Rockets are ran more than the Spurs, and more importantly he likes the city of Houston more than the city of San Antonio.

That'd be really hilarious. I'm still confused as to why the Rockets are so close to this thing, but whatever lol.
