Great breakdown of the finances. Basically, DWill would have to be willing to take less money to sign here.

Sounds like he's being an opportunist to a vulnerable situation. The mavs already have three point guards, a sf coming off an achilles, a wack center, an old Dirk and

,I started writing this sarcastically and can't finish. Besides money, why the hell would he want to play in Dallas? If he gets bought out Morey should pounce.

I would donate $10 to the Net's buyout to ensure D-Will can go to the Mavs.

This is like a perfect storm for the Mavs, and pretty much ensure them will land on the 8-10 spots in the draft and also totally demolish the team down next year.

    Can't wait.

Great breakdown except the Nets aren't interested in waiving and stretching him.

It's really pretty simple. If Dallas wants DWill and they are willing to give him a contract for the remainder of their cap space, then DWill can void the player option on his contract for next season and then agree to be bought out of this, the last season of his deal for whatever amount Dallas is willing to sign him for.

Dallas has approximately $8-8.5 million of cap space available right now. So, if DWill will accept a buyout of around $16 million for this season, the Nets would probably do it and Dallas can sign him outright. If DWill signs for say $8 million and then returns for another $8 million next season, then he's essentially giving up about $16 million of his option year to go to Dallas.

But the more likely scenario is just a plain jane 1-year deal that allows DWill to hit the free agent market next summer. And no telling what he can recoup then.

so..that means we are looking at least a 9 per for two years. Most likely all the remaining Dallas cap , around 11 per.

It would be hilarious if DM trolls Cuban by swooping in and signing him....

Shouldn't somebody at this stage of their career care more about winning, anyway?

He has been a head case but he was great in the playoffs this past year. Almost, almost, played like the old D Will.

Will Bev ever put up 35 and 7?

Umm... I doubt it, highly unlikely.

But will Bev get outplayed by Jack as his backup while b****ing to McHale and Morey at the same time?

I am very sure this won't happen.

Also, for all your people saying Morey should go for it and get D-Will, I suggest you take a deep breath and put down whatever you are smoking and just think it for a second.

D-Will is a washed up jack ass, but he isn't a dumb f**k washed up jack ass.

No team will trade for his contract at this current situation or Billy King and their Russian boss will send 10 truck loads full of Russian models to Morey's office right now.

If he works a buyout deal with the Nets, he control where he goes.

He is proven that he loves money and fame over winning. He will be a backup PG here and probably won't have the ball as much as Harden, while he will be the guy in the Mavs and for sure able to command more money.

Again, he is not a dumb f**k, yet, and this is just common sense.

Why would he sign with Dallas over Houston?
