Here is how Ryan Anderson shoots based on the color of the court. (FG%, not 3PT%) 1. Orange - 54% (Phoenix and NYK) 2. Dark Blue - 53.3% (Utah, Memphis, Indiana, Charlotte, Philadelphia, and hopefully Minnesota) 3. Blue - 46.5% (OKC and Orlando) 4. Green - 42.9% (Boston) 5. Red - 35.6% (Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, Portland, and Detroit) 6. Purple - 28.6% (Sacramento, but last season he absolutely killed it in his hometown) I’ll try to update it at the end of the season. Shout out to rocketsdaily on instagram.
hmm, I had no idea Anderson was from Sac. No wonder the Kings wanted to overpay him. Too bad Morey 1UPed them.
Lol this is so messed up. While watching him kill us against the clippers i started to imagine how moreys phone calls will be when he’s going to call teams to move him. “Ryan?! Are you crazy Daryl? Why would we take him, look at his inconsistencies at home! “ “Yea but that won’t happen when he plays on your home court, Houston is the only team in the league where he can be this bad.....”
Here are his home/road splits: Home 25 28.0 2.8-6.8 .404 1.6-4.7 .339 1.0-1.4 .686 1.6 4.1 5.8 1.2 0.4 0.4 2.0 0.8 8.1 Road 25 28.8 4.1-9.1 .454 2.7-6.6 .409 1.5-1.7 .881 1.4 3.7 5.1 0.8 0.3 0.4 1.8 0.7 12.4 He just sucks at home. Maybe Tmac was right it is hard to shoot at TC. Bad depth perception.
Be interested to see the variances in distance between home and away shots. From watching, it seems like he tends to shoot it from at least 6-7 feet beyond the arc rather than his more common 4-6 feet range beyond the line.
How does he suck on red courts, but excel on orange courts? Orange is a secondary color made from red. I don't see what type of evaluation you can take from this data.
It might be a depth perception issue. A lot of bright lights in many arenas. I always liked how LA dimmed the lights during games so the majority of light was on the court. I wonder if that could be something to help out our shooting here. Catch-22 with opponents' shooting though.
Dark blue = SPLASH Maybe we should want Minnesota in the second round so Ryno can average 20+ on the road
Only other color that should matter besides red is yellow. The stat on Oracle arena would nice to see.
I am surprised Morey and co. haven't figured a way to fix this issue. There has to be some sort of contact lenses or beer googles that can help with this no? If you look at his career home/road splits he is generally better at home over his career so he is not just some road dominant player. The stats prove he has an issue with the Rockets court among others so Morey and co. should try and find a solution. Maybe they already have tried but you have to think it eats him up inside knowing these stats don't lie and could hurt us immensely in the playoffs like they did last year. Ryan lost confidence I believe since he was 0-fer from 3 at home which carried over to Road games.
Regardless of whether or not colour is truly making a difference, we should keep talking about it and spreading the rumour. It ups his trade value if teams think he will shoot better for them!
