So we just witnessed the greatest month of basketball ever played?

 

Wilt Chamberlain did have 26 rebounds 44 points a game in November of 61'. He ended the season at 50 and 26 so it stands to reason he had a better month that year. Either way, Harden is incredible in his way he's doing things. I was absolutely pumped to see Chris Paul in a Rockets uniform this year, but Harden is playing so well that Paul is almost an afterthought. I'm not trying to be offensive. I bet Paul thinks something similar to this. Something like, 'I thought I was good...'

 

I don't know. I think Paul is sort of a coach on the floor during games, on the bench, and in practice. He's constantly talking to the other players, and he's delivering when he's playing. "Afterthought" is probably stronger than you intended. Wilt? I actually got to see him on TV a few times back when he was playing. In black and white, of course. He was unreal and would be a monster to play against today, in my opinion. Huge and uber athletic on the court, and according to reports (and Wilt), huge and uber athletic in the sack.

I thought perhaps Morey was discussing Wilt's manhood in terms any woman back in the day who knew Chamberlain would understand. If so, legend has it that Morey's estimate would be well short of reality. Wilt reportedly preferred to go out with girls that had a deep knowledge of the integration of statistical analysis and its use in the NBA. One can only imagine the conversations Daryl, Wilt, and half a dozen of Wilt's girlfriends would have had together in a hotel room on the road, if Morey had the use of a time machine. Were it possible to be a fly on the wall during such a hypothetical conversation about, say, balls and their relationship to the basket, it would be enough to make that fly blush, in my humble opinion.
