    That's cool.

It would be neat if we could take a player and do an animation of how their heap map morphs from one year to the next throughout their career. Is there free software to create something like that?

One of these is James Harden. One of these is Rudy Gay

He doesn't shoot much from the corner.

When he has the ball, he starts at the top of the arc. When he doesn't have the ball, he rarely spots up at the corner. Maybe Morey should convince him to do more of that.

i think you are visualizing a weather map where the data is constantly changing. basketball reference is only giving you one heat map per year so unless a player has had an extremely long career the animation would be extremely short. it would be easier just to look at the different pictures

Kobe's shooting map is really interesting. He's really cut down on his midrange shooting.

Hope Harden works on shooting from behind the backboard in the off season.. Seems like a real weakness in his game.

I was considering software that would animate the morphing from one map to the next. So, that could draw it out out a little, even if we're only talking about a handful of seasons. :)

I know this can be done in any video editing software just by cleverly picking the right transition as you transition from one image to the next.
