Not to me, it was a rehash of IV and had no characters worth rooting for and no villain compelling or scary enough to make anything matter. It was better than TLJ I will admit, but only because TLJ was horrendously bad. So TFA=blandly mediocre, and TLJ=franchise ending.
That makes zero sense, you don't buy the franchise for 4bil and make the movies expensive af to destroy it. Them firing directors mid-film and reshooting a large amount of the flicks shows that they desperately want to get it done right. Just face it, they hired idiots to run this and thought it eouldwou be difficult to satisfy the fans.
He actually had the whole trilogy written out and gave the episode VIII script to Rian, who decided to rather ditch all of it and do his own movie. So I don't think the mystery box applies here.
I read that but it was clarified by Rian that the drafts answered none of the big questions with regards to Snoke, Rey's parents, or Luke's motivations. which are really the big mysteries.
Hah, its all good. I've said my piece about the series, but your opinion is equally as valid as mine.
Wow, based on that photo you posted... maybe Lando will be something like Captain Pike from the original Star Trek.
Its odd how they spent SO much extra hundreds of millions on Solo reshoots, AND Rogue One reshoots covering well over half those movies ... but they leave Last Jedi AS-IS after actual death of the most beloved space princess all time because "impractical" for a couple scenes? Hell even ACKBAR shoulda kamikazeed that thing in there. Or at least give him an ENDING LINE. (He's here / By He Gone / Next scene). *Sigh* Just do Lando okay. Probably nothing but 3 lines of facetime is better than getting him too involved.
So you'd have had Leia suicide bomb the ship her son was on? This after Kylo backed out of the shooting at Leia in her ship earlier in the movie? That would get even more internet folk complaining.
It wasn't good... but unlike the prequels that were hampered severely by every possible aspect... this had a chance to be much better given the content from TFA, the actors involved, and potential reveals/plot devices that usually get set up with any over-arching trilogy. They pretty much wasted Mark Hammil giving a throwback performance.
