Didn't he already sign on the dotted line? Dude needs to realize he'll be a better basketball player after playing with the Spurs.
Marcus must of found out San Antonio was a dump and is now having second thoughts. https://www.poundingtherock.com/201...s-san-antonio-a-dump-nba-mens-health-magazine
S.A. would have provided better exposure on TV, including even playoffs, better system, prob and more playing time since Knicks are still developing players and they have ~ 3-4 PFs/C. On top of that next year teams will have plenty of $ and less superstars so more chances of getting overpaid. Dude must be really trying to get that money now at all cost.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to leave the spurs for the Knicks. if he wants to be a FA again next summer rework the deal with the spurs. but I hope he goes to the Knicks so the spurs are worse.
You only get one chance at an NBA career. I don't blame him for trying to get more money. It's not as if the Spurs will be making any noise next year.
I get Morris trying to maximize his earnings, but wtf is the Knicks doing? Didn't they already sign like 3 pf's this offseason?
lol this knicks roster is suck a mess. how in the world is RJ Barrett going to develop properly. they signed a bunch of guys that play the same positions and guys who still need to prove themselves to make more money bc theyre all short term deals. So all these guys are going to want the ball in their own hands to maximize their earning potentials sucks for RJ morris really flipped for $5 mil to go from a competitive team to a horrible one, with a glute of players that play the same position who all want PT. lol
This is stupid by Marcus but nobody can beat the idiocy that is the Knicks. This comes close to the Eddy Curry, Zach, Francis, Marbury days. Spurs get a very decent replacement!
Actually, this might be some next-level 200 IQ thinking on behalf of Morris and his agent. First, he earns more in one year with the Knicks than in one year with the Spurs. But then, since the 2020 FA class is so completely lacking (while the 2021 FA class is completely stacked with superstars), I bet Morris can get way more money at the end of this upcoming season, vs when his proposed Spurs contract would end. It's like YOLO said tho - Morris has to maximize his ability to show out to get the money. Hard to do when Knicks are obviously going to try and fast forward RJ's development.
Wait what??? I can't blame him, though. https://deadspin.com/marcus-morris-wipes-out-thousands-of-acres-of-transacti-1836296155/amp
