http://stats.nba.com/featured/sportvu_rockets_clippers_gm2_2015_05_06.html?ls=nba:specialsfull4 The Rockets outrebounded the Clippers 54-40 by grabbing 89% of rebound opportunities excluding deferred rebounds (rebound opportunities where the player had a chance and a teammate acquired the rebound). Blake Griffin had a monster first half with 26 points but was limited to only 8 second half points. The Rockets sent multiple defenders at Griffin much like in Game 1. After scoring 1.44 team Points per Isolation on 9 Isolations in Game 1, the Clippers were not as successful in Game 2. The Rockets struggled in Game 1 posting a Team Points per Isolation of 0.43 on 14 Isolations, in large part due to James Harden's struggles, but bounced back in Game 2 thanks to Harden's play. Griffin and Harden provided a boost to their respective offenses when driving to the basket with both players looking to move the ball rather than shoot.
I thought Matt Barnes and Austin Rivers shot unexpectedly good and in no way could keep that up. Griffin looked gassed at the end though
Good find. According to the numbers, Jones did an OK job on Griffin. He guarded him the longest amount of time and against the most touches (19). He only scored 3 pts against Jones and Terrence got a stop 60% of the time.
Careful. Because he was crap last season, people have a problem admitting he is our best defender at the 4 spot this season. I believe 2 of the points Griffin scored on him were off a bogus call as well - Jones was backing away with arms straight up, Griffin jumped into him and was rewarded with a foul call and 2 FTs (which he made).
