I have never gambled on Sports. However, I'm going to Vegas soon and would like to test my NBA knowledge by betting on some games. Is it pretty easy to do this? The process, that it is? I mean, do you just tell the casino what team you'd like to take and how much you'd like to bet? I know that you can do this online. Please don't suggest that I do that. That could get dangerous.

    just as dangerous:

Casinos are more than happy to let you bet on games in the future. They'll even mail you a check for your winning, if any.

The big casinos (Ceasers, MGM, Paris, Bellagios, etc.) all have a bar with the lines posted on big screens. You just walk up to the teller and tell them who u would like to bet on. Every thing is easy in Vegas, as long as you are 21 of course.

    The only problem is this.....

You cannot bet on NBA games at the Caesar's Palace Sports Book. The holding company that owns Caesar's Palace also owns a share of the New York Knicks.

The best sports betting in Vegas, including NBA betting, is at the sports book at the Las Vegas Hilton.

I'm staying at New York-New York and they offer a sports book. However, I have no idea what constitutes a good or not so good sports book. Enlighten me please.

--odds that are at the high end of the scale
    --lots of betting windows
--plenty of seating, plenty of big-screen TVs that are showing everything available
--cute watresses bringing unlimited free adult beverages

The Hilton has all of the above. Never been to New York New York the casino. Just the city.

The other place you MUST go to while in Vegas is the Hard Rock Cafe/Casino. Gotta play those Jimi Hendrix slot machines!! [IMG]

Ride the roller coaster at New York, New York. Go to the Bellagio and just sit at a table or video machine for a while. Their chairs are the best in town. Go to the Excalibur for the Krispy Kremes.

I definitely plan to ride New York-New York's roller coaster. These Krispy Kremes at the Excalibur, though, I'm just not sure about? Care to elaborate as to what exactly this is?

Krispy Kremes are simply overrated doughnuts...Don't get me wrong, they're good doughnuts, but some people swear by them like they were created by the all mighty himself...Personally, I'll take a box of Shipley's over Krispy Kremes any day of the week...
