These stores are unique in that they offer a place to go and waste some time at the mall... I don't know if they still exist... but I know I spent so much time there back when I was young... and even now.

If someone gave you lots of cash and you had to spend it all in ONE store... and the only choices were HOT TOPIC or SPENCER GIFTS... where would you go?

I'd choose Spencer Gifts. :p It's CLOWN territory.

I haven't been to a mall in about 10 years, they bug the hell out of me now. I guess spencers, although they are both a complete waste of money.

    Both places have good t-shirts.

At Hot Topic, it's their classic rock tshirts.

At Spencers, it's their Big Lebowski t-shirts.

However, at Hot Topic, I do my best to not make eye contact with anyone. So Spencers wins.

I cannot, in good conscience, vote anything but the cheeseburger option.

    Hot Topic

Don't hit the mall often but Hot Topic has vinyl records and a lot of cool t shirts. The people that work there are all kind of "different" looking but are usually super nice and friendly(at least at Baybrook).

didn't know either store still existed. Def consciously thought spencer's went out of business 8+ years ago

Spencers did go away for a while but a few years ago they started making a comeback.

Spencer's was my favorite store at the mall when I was 10.

I've been to a Hot Topic once, asked if they had any XTC t-shirts, and got a weird look from the 14-year-old staff and some remark about them being an old band, so I never set foot in there again. If I return, it'll be to shoot a hipster just to watch him die.

I voted Hot Topic because of the longer list of apparrel you can get there, but I don't see how one can go wrong with Spencer's either. I know one rack, at least, is filled with sex toys. :p

Coincidentally, they sell plenty of Johnny Cash tshirts in there.

I don't go in either though.
