I don't think he wants to play elsewhere and simply came back to Miami for one more season to retire. He's done.

Like other posters said, he went back to Miami to end his career there, this year or next year, he was considering retiring before this season.

You don't think he'd be willing to put that aside for one more season if it meant being on a playoff contending team?? These guys are competitors, and nobody WANTS to play for a loser. I think he'd be willing to lace 'em up for the Texans this year, and postpone his retirement til next year.

He doesnt want to play for Miami because he wants to play with a contender, he wants to play there, because he wants to retire as a dolphin.
His first 11 years where in miami, where he had his best numbers.
last season h played for the Jets to be on a contender team, but now he just wants to retire as a dolphin.

Does Taylor have a no trade clause or something?

Philli is in a sort of must win mode now as well. They need a player who can step in this season on defense, which the Texans cannot afford to give.

Plus, Gary Guyton is a nails on, blue-collar, no-nonsense LB cog in that Patriots defense. Worked his way up from undrafted FA to beating out J. Mayo. Not only would the the Patriots never trade him but especially not with a pick for DRC not matter how much they need secondary help.

Essentially, that deal is incredibly favoring the Eagles.

This was probably a joke, but not only is Schobel retired now, but after the way he was treated by the FO he said he would never have anything to do with this team.

Yeah, this is like Schobel Part Deux.

Taylor is pretty much done and the only reason he's even playing this year is so he can retire a Dolphin. He's a big name, but I really don't think he'd help us much at all.

That said, I don't see how it can hurt if we get him the same way we got Mason. But I'm sure not going to rip on the Texans if they don't pursue him.

Is this where the departing regime mortgages the future to save their jobs?

I hope so, we won't win Superbowls while they're here and everything else is just a big cocktease.

Yeah, giving up a 7th round pick will CRIPPLE this franchise for the next decade.

    LOL

"mortgaging the future"=trading 6th and 7th round picks lol. What would this team be if they'd traded away the opportunity to draft Cheta Ozougwu!

I think we're better off with Reed, Braman, and Nading honestly. Those guys are younger, faster, and so long as they don't have to go into coverage should do a decent job.
