Jason is a good kid, good player and I have no doubts that he could help this team

    Re-quoted from the Mason thread

I think if Jason Taylor wanted to leave he would have already. He's played 85% of his career there and probably would want to retire there, which should be happening not so long from now.

What do the Texans have to lose? If he can be had for a 7th rounder, there's absolutely no reason not to do this. I'd even be willing to give up a 6th or a 5th if it comes down to it. This the Texans year to make some noise, and failure really isn't an option.

Would rather see what Brooks Reed can do.

Another interesting tidbit from that nfl.com article.

What would it take for us to trade for DRC?

    Most likely a 2nd rounder

and why can't we do both?

If we deal for Taylor, Brooks Reed plays and sucks, hey at least we still have a veteran to fill in.

If we pass on Taylor to "see what BR can do," and he sucks.. we.. suck.

I would deal a 2nd for DRC in a heartbeat if that's really all it took seeing as how if they don't get a CB they'll have to use a draft pick on one this year anyway.

If all it took was a 7th to gamble on Taylor I'd risk that too.

This, a pass rushing OLB can be easier to find than the other LB positions. Mario didn't have the responsibility of sealing the edge right? The less Brooks has to learn or compute mid-play, the better.

Jason Taylor...the former Jet legend. I would do this trade if it was the same as the Mason trade. We do NOT give up anything worthwhile.

I'd give up a 2nd rounder for DRC. No doubt about it.

Easy decisions if its a 7th for Taylor and a 2nd for DRC.

The DRC acquisition alone would give us a ridiculous CB combo and solid playoff hopes.

Fans want to wait and see what the rookies do? Yeah right...I've waited long enough. Go big or go home. Rick Smith knows this as well as Kubiak because their jobs are on the line. They great roster moves to win NOW which is a nice change for once.
