No Howard drama. Not sure about that back. I actually like the team Morey has put together.

Howard left Orlando for post-season success. Best way to convince Howard to come over is to meet the Lakers in the playoffs, and beat them.

Well if its not LA, Houston would have to be way at the top of Howard options. He knows we were trying to move heaven and earth to get him. We have a superstar now in Harden. He will spend about a week here for All Star Weekend and actually get a chance to enjoy and learn about the city. If somehow Morey decides to go that you really couldn't blame him. Yes Howards free through % is terrible, but everything else about his game is better than Asik. Best of all, if he does get Howard to sign Morey will have a pretty amazing asset in Asik to trade for a better quality PG or PF.

Of course Morey will go after him, but that doesn't mean DH wants to come here. DH isn't about winning, he's about Hollywood, so it won't matter when the others retire.

But don't we have T Jones, a lesser Howard?

I don't agree with this assessment. He left Orlando to go to a larger market. That's why his first choices were Brooklyn/New York and his second choices were the LA teams.

I laughed, but I shouldn't have. That was pretty mean.

No chance. It's 110 mil vs 80 mil and Lakers vs. Rockets.

I already made a thread about this at the start of November.

If I recall, the idea that Howard would not resign with LA was treated with incredulity by most.

Well, what about now? With every Lakers regular season meltdown it becomes increasingly likely he signs elsewhere. With every squandered opportunity in a tough conference where even a +.500 record is not a guarantee of a playoff seed, it becomes just a little more plausible.

Why not? He has done wonders for the Lakers win-loss record, LA have a perfect 100% winning percentage when scoring more points than their opponents thanks to Dwight.

    1. Sign Dwight Howard.
    2. Trade Lin & 2Pat for CP3 via sign and trade.
    3. Trade Asik for an all star PF.
    4. ???

Correct. He lacks the leadership needed for a young team like ours.

I rather have Asik who really appreciates being in the NBA than Howard, who thinks the NBA owes him. It is funny how he went from Disney World to Disney Land. He was reminiscensing his days with the Magic saying Orlando will always be home, yada yada before the reunion, then the Magic beats him, he walks off the court without shaking his former teammates hands and just doesn't owe up to the media that his FTs as the reason why Lakers lost. Even Lin and Harden acknowledge his former teammates, why would we want a primma donna?!?!?!? If we are getting Dwight, I hope we aren't sending him IPads, or have Morey visit him before free-agency starts. Let him come if he wants to, but we should be done begging for his service.

This! And even if it wouldn't be about the money, Dwight doesn't want to be here. The big players want the big cities and the big teams. He wouldn't leave the Lakers to become a Rocket - if at all he'd go to the Nets.

We should really be setting our sights further down the road. I'd trade all of our picks and players for first round draft picks in 2148 so after the world ends and we've rebuilt, we have the upper hand. Moneyball at its finest.

Meh. If he comes to Houston, then welcome. If not, then OK, we don't have to deal with another drama queen.
