Given the star power in the league at that time, I'm kind of puzzled by the choices the producers made in casting of the NBA players that their talent to the creatures from Moron Mountain. Granted, they needed people that spoke fluently and would be great on screen, so though Olajuwon was hot coming off two NBA titles, he wouldn't have been a great pick for this movie.

I wonder who turned down the chance to be in Space Jam. Seems to me that Clyde Drexler would have been a natural since he was both a great player and had a personality that would have translated well for a movie role as himself. Shaq was doing a ton of movies at that time, so I'm really curious as to whether or not he turned it down because he definitely would be great as himself in a movie.

And they weren't wholly accurate in how they portrayed the Monstars and the talents taken away from each player used by them. For example, we all know Shawn Bradley would have been dunked on hard by every member of the Looney Tunes squad, most especially by Tweety Bird and that mouse character.

I'd replace Bradley with Shaq. The rest I have no issue with.

Karl Malone would have been sterile as himself in the movie but I would have been interesting to see how they would have incorporated his flopping as a Monstar.

Pretty sure Bradley and Muggsy were there because of their respective sizes... A super tall skinny dude and a very short basketball player are probably more interesting to a kid than Stockton and Malone's pick and roll. It's a kids' movie, not the Hall of Fame :p

    Scoring: Hakeem Olajuwon
    Rebounding: Dennis Rodman
    Passing: John Stockton
    Stealing: Gary Payton
    Blocking: Dikembe Mutombo

Each Monstar would represent each player's abilities. So I'm sure we'd of seen the Dream Shake in animated form, haha.

Space Jam 2 (Starring LeBron James)
    Kevin Durant
    Dwight Howard
    Rajon Rondo
    Chris Paul
    Tim Duncan

If they did a remake of the monstars for this year:

    CP3
    Kobe/Harden
    LeBron/KD
    Blake Griffin
    Dwight Howard

I feel like it'd be Nate Robinson instead of CP3, just for the height. And probably Harden for sure instead of Kobe, imagine that beard on a Monstar.

Imagine a Monstar that rapes young girls in Colorado. Now THAT would be scary.

    Chris Paul is pretty short.

Nash is listed 6'3 but I am sure he's 5'10 or so. I would imagine CP3 not being any taller than that.

so you're saying that Nash wears 5 inch basketball shoes? that might be a stretch.

No, I am saying that NBA has a tendency to stretch the truth about player heights
