Sources: Rockets pushing for a RYNO trade before the deadline

there was ZERO point in moving ryno this season... ZERO. we weren't going to get back anyone that could match his potential (and occasionally more frequent) production. sh!tty contract or no, lebron recruitment or no, THIS YEAR'S SQUAD has a real chance to contend for the title and shipping him off for cap relief would do nothing but hurt our chances THIS YEAR.

Exactly. The quality of your 7th or 8th guy is not going to win or lose a championship, but it can certainly help narrow the gap between in the regular season to try to nail that 1st seed, and if guys like JJ and T Chandler give you 2-3 memorable performances each in the playoffs, they have done MORE than let's say what a Zaza Pachulia can do to us.

I also know that if we heard it straight from Kerr and Myers (that's the Warriors GM right?), they would be more nervous about us this playoff season than they were of the Cavs or Spurs last season.

Like I said at the beginning of the season. The Warriors are not just a great team, they're a historically great organization maybe all happening at the same time. But our 3 minds - Morey, MDA and Harden - these guys are pioneers at their core. They will evolve or invent when faced with a wall. Morey and MDA imo could have managed the Cavs to a victory over the Warriors if given the opportunity. Heck, some think Pop might have done it if Kawhi hadn't gone down halfway into a dominating game 1 performance. If anyone is going to figure out a way to mind-f*ck the Warriors, it's us or Pops, and Pops ain't got the guns to compete this season.

You can see it in our guys. Chris Paul looks 3 years younger out there. He is, in his own words, hoopin' right now. He's having so much fun while staying sharp and competitive. Incredible to watch. Curry has gotten the best of him recently - I wouldn't be surprised if those tables turn this offseason. I believe Paul can outplay Curry in a playoff series and I believe that is his #1 goal in life right now. He hates those guys and he's hungry for a title.

The Warriors are talking about us differently this season. Passive aggressive comments all over the place lol. It's clearly messing with them. You can't expect them not to be confident about beating us - they are, after all, a great team. More accomplished and more talented. That's what's going to make this title so special. That's what this franchise is all about. That's its identity. To beat the odds by pioneering new basketball and outworking the opponent. I'm very excited about the playoffs, maybe you can tell.

 

He costs us melo. He’s gonna end up costing us lebron this offseason.

 

Ryno will have more value next trade deadline because of his 2019 expiring deal where there is a lot of big name free agents become available

Completely fine with Ryno on the roster for this year. He provides spacing. We can attach a 1st and dump him this offseason if Lebron is on his way.

 

We'll see in the playoffs. Dude had horrible defense and shot 28% from 3 in the playoffs last year, he basically cost us the Spurs series because he couldn't guard LMA and then he couldn't score when the Spurs left him open and focused on Harden.

This is the main reason I wanted to get rid of him, he sucks in the playoffs.

Career playoff Average of 7 pts, 4.4 rebs, 0.7 assists on just 36% FG and mediocre 32% 3 pt.

Now we are stuck with him but judging on his history so far Anderson is the type of person who just wilts and performs badly once things get tough.

 

Not only would it hurt the team on the court this year , it would prevent them from being able to keep the core of the team and adding a more talented player via trade - No Ryno contract , no Lebron opt in trade scenario.

 

We can still do the LeBron 6 for 1 deal (including Gordon and Tucker) per BimaThug and keep Ryno for next year (or ship him off in a separate trade).
