You guys that think the Spurs will give up Kawhi and take back Deng in the same trade are delusional.

 

He doesn't have a no-trade clause, right? So it doesn't matter that much what he demands or not. Like Paul George last year, a team would probably be willing to trade for him with the thoughts they could convince him to stay

Although him missing an entire year, and then only having one year left on his contract and possibly being a one year rental, does make a pretty big negative impact on his trade value.

Lakers get: Kawhi and a 2nd round pick from Hawks

Hawks get Ball and Deng (Hawks need to meet team minimum salary requirements.

 

In 2019 playoffs, Lakers new team can defeat Rockets if Rockets have the same amount of salary budget as Warriors, which means Rockets lose Ariza, Luc Moute and Joe Johnson.

So basically Ingram, Kuzma, and ball for Kawhi? That would be a lot to give up, but if they did that they would clear all the salary off their books. PG13, Leonard, and LBJ would be a match up nightmare for everyone on both offense and defense.

I actually think Lebron free agency can actually go down in late June the same way the Chris Paul trade did.

I expect the Rockets to know very early in the offseason if Lebron wants to be here or not, and if that's the case they'll work on a sign & trade with the Cavs, that's basically why Morey signed Quarterman with a team option for next season, so he can be traded as a salary filler and be released for free before free agency starts.

As for forcing a trade well, Lebron can easily say "if you don't sign & trade me to Houston i leave for free to L.A or Philly", now i don't really know how they reached a deal with this years ago, but Lebron in the end was sign & traded to Miami too.
