The Rockets cannot pay ~48 million dollars for Iggy to play one year of basketball here. (17.2 million salary, @16 million over the luxury tax threshold = 32 million luxury tax bill. Subtract whatever minor salary player would be added to Shumpert's S&T new contract) LOL at Fertitta spending 50 million more on any player.

It's not happening without a buyout by Memphis. Unless you all want to trade Gordon to get Iggy here?

iggy isn't even worth 10 dollars here. he's an old corpse that can't shoot and repeatedly gets injured.

on top of that he doesn't believe in harden. he'd prolly rather join the poopers (lakers)

I agree with this. For the Rockets to land Iguodala in a buyout scenario, they have to offer significantly more money than either Los Angeles team. Considering he’s still one of the best wing defenders in the league and has proven he can elevate his game in the postseason for contending teams, I would have no problem offering him the remainder of MLE if I’m the Rockets.

There's a possibility Memphis gets an asset for AI2 at the trade deadline. They would be stupid to waive him without him taking a pay cut.

And AI2 is not about pay cuts.
Unless Gordon gets injured there is no point making this trade.

    Au contraire, foolish children.
Iman didn't have time to get fully healthy.
Look at what he shot while playing 26-28 minutes for the Kings. Before that, when he came back from injury for the Cavs , he was in LBJ's doghouse. Look at the percentages from deep. Playing at significantly less than 100% on that knee, Shump was still better than anything else we had there.
Mark my words...he will either give us 26-30 minutes a game...or will be dealt for a piece.
    The guy's not done.

Definitely a high risk of washed factor with Iggy, but last year in the playoffs he was still valuable defensively.

Shump has been an elite playoff three-point shooter and defender his whole career. He can give you a tough 15 minutes at the highest level.

    Would be an excellent addition.

It is unfortunate that his one good playoff game this year came against us.

But yeah he is pretty washed. He would be a 10-15 mpg guy at best, and even then I wouldn't expect much.
