Let's say this actually comes true for some bizzaro world reason. I hope Morey would fire himself if he somehow includes a 1st Rounder with Knight in order to bring back Lin, who required a 1st Rounder himself to be traded away from this team not too long ago. That means Jeremy Lin's worth to this organization is now up to two 1st Rounders....or supposedly half a Jimmy Butler for those counting at home.

 

Correct - but the Hawks are stuck with him. I don't think they cared too much though. It was worth a shot since they were salary dumping Schroeder and had to maintain a threshold of spending.

I'd be pretty excited about this move if Lin's name was John Smith. Looking at it objectively, he has enough talent to be a role player off the bench.

Once again, this is about Lin's expiring contract to send to a third team.

Like I told you before we are trying to covet Knight to an expiring WITHOUT giving up a first rounder. I listed both Lin and Alec Burks as possibilities.that we were discussing then....about a week ago or more.

Barring an expiring, we're trying to trade Knight and a small asset like a future second or possibly Edwards....to a team for a SMALLER two-YEAR contract that we can forward to a third team.

That is why the Knight/Melo + small asset for Hill has legs and clubs get done ......... this week.


But it will likely be a part of a greater multi-team deal.
