No need to make this decision now. It makes itself based on how games go.

If the Rockets win their next 3 and OKC beats GS then we will be 1.5 games back with the tie breaker. At that point you play for the #1 seed.

Otherwise the team still plays for seeding until they have secured the #2 - #4 seed which is likely to come down to the wire.

I don’t see any scenario for resting players until then. We can’t take any team for granted - even Dallas or Phoenix given what happened last nite. There are no automatic wins out there.

Play to win every game and everything else will sort itself out naturally.

    It doesn't go that way.
You can reduce Harden minutes to 30 and Paul minutes to 25. MDA says no.
with 8 minutes remaining, opponents are leading by 2 points.

we were out of sync early in the playoff last year because we were resting players

    1. Decimate the rest of the season
    2. Grab the 1st seed
    3. Rest Paul every other playoff game because Harden is getting his shitty playoff shooting out of his system so now only Goku Harden will appear in the playoffs and Paul won't be needed.
    4. Finish off GSW at home in 5 because you know there's going to be one bullshit game, officiating wise.
    5. Beat whatever crap team comes out of the East
    6. Harden becomes 1B to Olajuwon's 1A in franchise history.

I intentionally took this out in the poll. It is not stimulated.
For 3 seed, it could go to 6 games or more in every round of playoffs.

Missing 2 playable guys luc and cp3. Tried to bring Luc back before he was ready and maybe a more rested cp3 makes it through the gauntlet.

the rockets needed every bit of cp3's performances in that series. resting him would of done what again.

luc just completely lost it and til this day.

All I'm saying is maybe cp3 would have lasted longer if we didn't finish the season playing him 30+ minutes a game because coach wanted to be in a good rhythm going into playoffs. Other teams find time to rest their key guy all year and it works well for them. See Popovich Kerr etc.

Couldn't have said it better .

Especially the section about harden .

He needs **** dialed down for a while so he can go superman again . If he's worried about his conditioning he can run stairs on his own time . But I want the bruising of some of those impacts to fade away a bit

will never really get this guessing mentality. cp3 didnt play in 6 of the last 11 games for the rockets. the rockets got to the playoffs and he showed up for them as expected. he got hurt. it happens. part of the game. that simple

why am i going to see popvich and kerr. you mean they dont deal with injuries on their teams. thats news

did tony parker not rupture his quad? did kawhi not miss game 6 vs the rockets with a hurt ankle? did curry not miss a significant part of the playoffs with a knee injury? did iggy not get hurt in last years playoffs? did KD not get hurt in the 2017?

No need to set guys anymore..... we have capable back ups at every position. So u just play key guys less mins that's it...injury comes from playing to many mins not from not getting days off. Its having to go to hard in said game. With capable back up every player can pace themselves

    I see this,
Conference finals starts at March 17, Rockets in 6.
Conference finals starts at May 17, GS are favorite.
Rockets first 2 rounds could be tougher. GS can beat Nuggets/Thunder easily.
Bogut has a big body to take care of any layups from George, West B or Harris.

Gotta try and lock in the 2/3 bracket of seeding. If we are assured that, I wouldn't be opposed to resting a few of our players. I have my doubts about grasping the #1 seed away from the Warriors but we will see.

I'm confident we can take out SA/LAC in the first and Denver in the second.

3 seed could play both Thunder and Nuggets. It has to be 1 or 2 seed.

If this team had been healthy and right all season, I would be more concerned over seeding. That we’ve been able to climb back into any HCA is a miracle, making the playoffs almost seems a miracle after seeing the first 10 games of this season.

We’ll have to have road playoff wins to get a chip. We had seeding but not health, I’ll try my luck with health but not seeding. We should be favored in any series but GSW and honestly after this seasons drubbings maybe them too.

The only season I remember where fatigue came into play was that one season with tmac where they won 22 straight. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Yao was injured for the entire playoffs that year. Either way, I still think they could've put up a better fight if they didnt waste all that energy keeping the streak alive. Anyways, the Rockets need to play for the 1st seed. I don't think resting is an option here. Just my thoughts.
