Never see this actually discussed... To me, he is (or could be) a big part of what this team is missing. A big man, enforcer type who can run the pick-and-roll and/or pick-and-pop, help out on the boards, and is a decent finisher at the rim. I know he slowed down noticeably last year, but what exactly is wrong with him and can we ever expect him back? Because I have no clue.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles...out-3-4-weeks-after-reaggravating-calf-injury As this article was posted 10/25, that would make his re-evaluation either next week or the week after.
When he plays he isn’t a scrub. The problem is that he is 85 years old in NBA years. Love em before their gone, no one lasts forever.
It is a shame. You can barely slide a copy of the Greensheet under his jump now. He dunks like I do (THUD!), except I'm white, un-athletic, and 50.
Maybe if he had retired last season and was brought in as a "consultant" to the organization making, "coincidentally" the same amount he's making this year we would have had a roster spot for Tyson Chandler.
Please take into account the Nene we all watched TRY to play last season before we start looking for him to come back and significantly help this team.
I actually mentioned this a few times. I mean this mysterious calf strain that has been so disabilitating that he never played in preseason or this regular season. He's never even talked about by the broadcasters. I never see any injury updates or progress reports, and haven't even seen him on the sideline, which is odd. He served a purpose at times, and was good at bringing some muscle in when Clint needed a rest, regardless of what some of the player bashing fans say.
Nene tried to RunItBack too much and reaggravated his injury. Jokes aside he has been big for us two years ago, but i guess he's done at this point.
