The mother of all bombs against ISIS is followed up by the mother of all base attacks by the Taliban.

And Afghan forces have a long ways to go to hold the territory they currently control.

Way to go, Dubya. Instead of a police action to get Bin Laden you decided to conquer and occupy Afghanistan and for some f'd up reason go and destroy Iraq to create Isis and refugees. Of course Obama for practical purpose more or less continued the bs.

Well, the poppy and cannabis trade is still dope. Afghanistan now produces 90% of the world's heroin, a dramatic increase since the invasion.

Seriously.... opium is a huge cash crop there and that would further increase poverty without it under current conditions. The US nation building strategy doesn't include much to address what I consider the biggest cause of terrorism, a bunch of young folks with no future or remotely decent job prospects that have only known poverty and instability. Despite all that energy in the Middle East, most of the rewards go to the very few and doesn't resemble the US energy industry at all, which pays well.

How about some pics of Saudi Air Force bombing food supplies so Yemenis die of starvation
Nice try on the anti-Iranian thing. Hey if you Saudis want to attack Iran along with your Israeli ally, leave the US out of it. Sadly if you grease the Trump family enough we might send the poor folks in thee US "voluntary" military over there to do your work and help increase our military industrial stocks.

It's weird how America always gets tangled up for a long time with the world's best drug producers: Golden Triangle/Vietnam, Nicaragua/cocaine, now Afghanistan. Can we count oil as a drug? Yes, Bush the Little said we are "addicted." So throw in Iraq. We don't fight Saudi though, ask Trump what we do with them.

    Sir with all due respects
Shouldn't you be concerned with people selling their own children's out of poverty in Oil rich State like Venezuela before tackling ME's affairs that you don't have a clue about it.

it cost around 100$ to take a home course of preparing Myth at home in Iran (google it) , they're like a virus that has spread in Venezuela ,corrupting politicians and a parasite that's sucking the blood of people (whenever they can infiltrate to any place), hey if they cant help them self or care about their citizens, why do you expect them to help the socialists in Venezuela

yes the Saudis along with 55 muslims nations pointed the source of the instability in ME, that idiot Rouhani ,the next day admitted it by saying : no stability or what so ever without Iran

I don't know how you end up rooting for tyrant regimes that thinks spreading chaos will accelerate the return of their Mahdi ! they're not hiding it , they take pride of showing it !!

Taliban is again causing an existential crises in Afghanistan. Last year, it was reported that they effectively control 1/3 of the country. Their 2017 spring offensive started with the single deadliest base attack since their ousting.

Are we, as Americans, willing to allow another several hundred US troops to be killed, and thousands more wounded, in an effort to restore, what appears to be, temporary democracy and legitimacy to Afghanistan?
