The US nation building strategy doesn't include much to address what I consider the biggest cause of terrorism, a bunch of young folks with no future or remotely decent job prospects that have only known poverty and instability. Despite all that energy in the Middle East, most of the rewards go to the very few and doesn't resemble the US energy industry at all, which pays well.

Their 2017 spring offensive started with the single deadliest base attack since their ousting. Are we, as Americans, willing to allow another several hundred US troops to be killed, and thousands more wounded, in an effort to restore, what appears to be, temporary democracy and legitimacy to Afghanistan?
