we now have young strong power forwards. Why hold onto Scola? Trade, get great value, get younger. I don't see it any other way.
lowry/dragic/flynn martin/lee/twill bud/morris/twill Scola/PP Chuck/Hill/Yao/Donatas? I dont see a problem 1 through 4. Only trade him to get better, not to clear out space.
For as good as Scola has been for the good guys since we acquired him, the writing is definitely on the wall for Luis with the squad we have in place. You have to believe that contenders around the league would love to have a winner like Scola on their squad for a drive to the title. As much as I love him, he is simply not a fit on this team; sure he'll get numbers and dominate for stretches at a time, but for what good? A couple wins per season - at best? This is a young team without a superstar right now and Luis has proven himself as a true glue PF in this league during his time in Houston. I would say that at this point, the question is whether Morey can obtain fair compensation in a deal with Scola; based on his track record, I would imagine that he could get at least equal value, but whether it would fit with this team's philosophy under Kevin McHale remains another question.
Do not trade scola he can b a veteran leader for all r young PFs and show dem how 2 b consistent professionals
I think he would fit nicely with bogut in milwaukee. Maybe scola to the bucks, maggette to the clipps, and kaman to the rockets.
Lakers have an old point guard in Derek Fisher , and I'm sure both Lakers and Pau want to part ways. Something like Gasol for Lowry + Scola + filler would be good for us and them
I think I remember that it will be difficult (impossible?) to trade Scola till after July 1st due to base year compensation rule? Don't hate if I'm wrong.....going off a faulty memory...lol.
If they trade Scola . . . I'm not going to recover from that. How can we trade, him he's only quality starting power forward we have.
