    I'm having a hardtime finding the ruling behind signing after march 1st. but I read players who sign from the d-league and player returning from europe are eligible and the rule only applies for player who were on a nba roster prior to march 1st. So is a player coming from china eligible?

    Yeah, it's not the easiest to find, because the wording about March 1st makes you think you have to find another date.

    There actually is not really another date. It's just natural. There's no Playoff-roster deadline. Any free agent can sign up until the end of the season and be eligible, EXCEPT for those cut from an NBA roster after March 1st.

    Regarding foreign players. As long as they are free agents they can sign with an NBA team. McGrady did that with the Spurs late in the season a few back, right?
