So far it looks like a two horse race between Lin and Jamal Crawford, I've browsed through some other lists and older candidates such as Ginobili and Mo Williams aren't there. JR Smith is building brick houses in NYK and Kevin Martin is now starting at the Timberwolves. Patrick Beverly will win after he goes back to the bench. His defensive spark works great with the 2nd unit.
Bev really doesn't have that spark while playing w/ the starting unit, that's somewhat true...except for that game vs. Chris Paul.
Jeremy needs to embrace this 6th man role, I love the dynamic it gives our team. He has out performed Bev but I think it's because he has that freedom to be reckless which is his best trait.
in the pregame, Harden was basically talking about how well Lin was playing, and anytime Lin looked hesistant that he'd just keep telling him to shoot/be aggressive. Its not really who starts, but moreso who finishes, and given the way games have been going hes very much in that Ginobli type role imo.
Sooner or later, the Kings will realize how dumb they are for misusing Isaiah Thomas two years in a row. Vasquez is absolutely trash with no upside while Isaiah is straight balling. I swear Kings is the dumbest organization, everyone who plays for them is totally wasting their prime and talent.
How are they misusing him? It's not like they're not playing him- he plays 28 mpg. Plus, it would be hard to start him and expect him guard top WC point guards when he's only 5' 9. Greivis Vasquez was a very good distributor last year with Anthony Davis, so he should be able to play with DMC. He just needs time to adjust with his new team.
harden said seething similar after shoot around that he wanted to keep feeding Jeremy get him involved - so sounds like they are learning to play together even more , & harden is trusting him more also
James is basically telling Jermey to play a lil more "hero ball" and have a lil more "sticky fingers." And why not _ he's hot...
IF Jermey doesn't get the starting job back _ I think he can win the 6th Man award if the Rockets have a good record and they beat good teams in the process.
I think it's way too early to think about that. JLin doesn't need an expectation, Linsanity, 6th man, or anything else, he just needs to play his game and continue to work on his weaknesses which he is doing. He may not come off the bench all season anyway. Now that McHale is playing him and not pulling him and he's getting his minutes especially late in the 4th, he'll be more confident and won't hesitate much. He's your big 2nd playmaker on the team and one of the scorers, anywhere from 2nd to 4th option depending on who is going well but the ball should go through him just a little bit more.
