Yes, I agree that Capela's IQ is very high, not just in basketball knowledge and ability to make reads in real time, but also he appears to be very smart in terms of managing his career priorities, training, studying, improving off the court.

Perfect combination of talent, smarts and thirst to work hard.

Clint Capela is just a run-of-the-mill center, nothing special, nothing to see here, if it weren’t for James Harden and CP3, he’d be working in the New Balance store down near the Galleria just to make ends meet because he’s be on a “take-it-or-leave-it” contract. And if we had Ricky Rubio instead of Harden, Capela would look like Hakeem. But we don’t. And he isn’t.

If only CC would try to dunk on people like he did his first few weeks in the league. He would jump from wherever he caught it and go for a slam. He needs to get stronger, but that travel the other day was a prime example of where he could just jump over Green/Iggy (forgot who was there).

if he doesn't win most improved this year, he will win defensive player of the year soon enough. his defense is already elite.

now he can start working on his offense. we see it with his ability to read the PnR, and a little with the eurostep.

if he adds a jump hook so he can score in the post against smaller defenders that switch after a PnR he'd be an all star next year.
