    " ...

Harden is now staring at a referendum on his reputation. In the wake of last year’s loss to the Spurs, Rockets management defended Harden and spent the offseason vastly improving his supporting cast. Houston’s blueprint has largely come to fruition, powered by the most complete campaign of Harden’s career and a veteran-dominated roster loaded with two-way players.

Despite those efforts, the loss to San Antonio left a stain, one that has endured through a season that produced a new franchise record for wins. If Harden were to slink into the summer again, so much apparent progress, both for this franchise player and for his team, would be at risk of coming undone. The only silver lining from Sunday’s record-setting 41-point defeat is that Harden gets at least two chances to push back on the most aggravating of labels: That he comes up small when it matters the most.

Harden need not lead the Rockets to a miraculous comeback in this series, but he must buck his history of crumbling."

Ugh, whatever. All these reporters just need something to talk about. The defending champs just beat our ass on their home floor. This was disappointing, but not that surprising. I don’t care what the regular season records were, the Warriors should be favored to win given their talent differential, especially on their home floor. If the Rockets got swept by 40 points per game, yes that would be “crumbling”. Losing 4-3, 4-2, or 4-1 to THIS team would suck, but honestly should not come as a shock to anybody.

That said, the Rockets are still alive. They still have a chance. Let’s shock the world!

The narrative is the narrative until it's not the narrative. Harden just needs to win. Simple.

We can break it down however we want to but at the end of the day this is the way it's going to be pictured as
    Weather you agree or not.
Last night's game SUCKED but I'm still fully confident in JH.

That's not good. Harden won't perform under all this pressure and scrutiny. Leave Harden alone!

So many people get butt hurt when other people speak the truth. I don't care nothing about the Warriors being the got darn champs. That was last season, not right now. Harden has to show up and show out period. This team that was constructed to compete against the Warriors needs to man up and compete. No way in hell should this explosive offensive team lose by 41 darn points. And Harden the leader shouldn't be folding like he did before.

Ugh @vlaurelio can you tell the media to stop unfairly telling Harden to step up and start putting pressure on everyone else instead?

Harden is the MVP. It’s time to show why, fair or not. He NEEDS to be the best player on the floor tomorrow. He is capable.

Bring out the inner-Kobe swag and aim high and let it fly baby. NOTHING to lose!!!

so why do people on here matter to you? why do you let people trigger you so easily on here if "they don't matter" and "harden will ultimately be judged by morey, tilman, and cp3?"

The Rockets, for whatever reason, don't often play well after several days off. They kick azz, they relax, they lose. Hell, they couldn't even make layups. You'd think Hakeem in his prime was on GSW: "I hear footsteps, oh God he's right there isn't he?!?!?!"

Harden needs to show up, obviously, but the formula for success is moving the ball around like they did in Game 2.

In this thread: losers on Clutchfans crying that people are fairly criticizing Harden for the disappearing act he routinely pulls in the playoffs.

When he doesn’t get foul whistles he turns into a turnover machine on offense and an invisible man on defense.

article is right on (w/the exception of ignoring the comeback vs. LAC after their backs were against the wall)

We will see what kind of team we have after game 4.

I keep hearing, "this is our year" which is unsettling if they are to go down this easy.

Harden for sure needs to play better and be mentally tougher.

But the media is pushing this thing too hard. They don’t do this with any other player. Hell when curry was playing like crap for 2 games, everyone was lining up to give him excuses.

I understand he hasn’t had “meltdowns” in the past, but he does have a baller team and coach around him.

Media is lazy as hell when it comes to this ****
