Should we sign a street free agent to play QB in the playoffs?

    Hear me out.

It seems like recently every time we are forced to play a new QB (Savage this year, Yates, Weeden, last year, etc) we have success. I think the reason for this is that opposing teams can't prepare for new QB's as well and our offense seems to be most effective with an abridged simple playbook.

I know free agent QB's are free agents for a reason, but since all our QB's suck anyways why not start a crappy QB that opposing teams can't prepare for instead of a crappy QB that opposing teams have a tape on?

If you agree with my sentiment, who is out there we could sign?

So, you've already decided that Savage sucks? I say we haven't seen enough of Savage to come to any conclusions about him one way or the other.

That's fair, but I'm just saying instead of trying out Savage's potential in a playoff game, why not try to capture the very real effect of new QB's having success because of lack of opposing team's game plan around them for the playoffs. There are so many examples of this: Matt Flynn's big game that landed him that contract, Carson Wentz's early season success, Kaepernick's early success, etc.

Like who? Also do you know how long it would take for that QB to learn the system?

I am convinced that OP actually is one of the current assistant coaches under BOB or could be even in charge of the players evaluation and development under Rick Smith.

    It makes total sense.

Hear me out, you're take is ****ing r****ded. O'Brien is playing Savage as vanilla as possible to avoid providing playoff teams with useful game tape. The switch to Savage is very Yates-like in its energized the fanbase plus he's got a strong arm and mobility, I think there is a masterplan at work here. Everyone should exercise patience and let it play out, Russell Wlison wears #3 too huh...

LOL, y'all need to lighten up. I know there is zero chance of this happening. Just thought it could be a fun exercise to try to think of random ass free agent QB's and play with memberberries. Membo Josh Freeman?

Jake delhomme. I completely butchered that. sounds like a fancy pants fragrance something you'd wear with Uggs boots and a baby goat.

Run,run, pass. Shouldn't be to hard for an ex-QB working at the Home Depot to pick up our system.
