Considering that many people here think that the Warriors regularly set moving screens knowing it will not be called, how would you feel about the Rockets employing the same strategy?

If the referees are universally not calling the foul, maybe it is something that every team should be exploiting. The same philosophy could be applied to attacking players in the paint if Harden is not getting the calls.

Every team does it. Just don't do it blatantly and the refs won't whistle.
The question is : Should we flop like Draymond Green?

I don't really care too much about a little bump on a screen... but the Warriors often blatantly bear-hug players to prevent them from getting around the screen.

    And that's ridiculous.

They should also push off the opponent guarding them in order to get open.

And also fall after every 3 pointer.

Yup, the Warriors employ a simple strategy where once contact is felt on the screen, they flop that contact into momentum directly into the defender and takes them out of the play. This forces the big man switch where they can break down the Rockets defense with all the 3 point shooters.

Bogut and Green being the best at this.

No. Because it will be called on us. We have our rules to abide by, they have theirs

Yup Dwight unfortunately does it a lot but he gets called for it almost once per game, that's the difference.

As other posters noted the Rockets already do this. As far as pushing off and flopping on plays we are guilty of that too. ONe of the biggest complaints by other teams is that the Rockets flop.

I've said it before. Most NBA screens are illegal by the book. The refs seems to randomly call a few and ignore most. That's why if you are a conspiracy theorist, the calling (or non-calling) of moving screen is the easiest way for the refs to "fix" the game. Just a few well placed offensive foul calls on a key player would take him out of the game. And those would be "correct" calls.

Since howard hurt his knee he probably won't move as much as he usually does on screens.

A lot of people here are saying the Rockets do this too... and no, they really don't. Not in the same way.

Yes, Dwight and others might give a little bump or move a little bit... but that's completely different from what the Warriors are doing. The Warriors do those too on almost every play.

But on many other plays, the Warriors players are literally grabbing and holding the Rockets players (usually on off-ball screens to free up Thompson or Curry for a 3).

They are holding them with their arms.

These aren't "iffy" calls for the ref to make. These are blatant holding calls like a football player would get flagged for so that the defensive lineman can't sack the quarterback.

If we did it, we would be called for them (legitimately so).

GS abuses this, but honestly Dwight sets a half ass moving screen almost every time. He doesn't abuse it as bad (following the guy and blocking like a left tackle [thats you Bogut]), but I imagine if they start "cracking down" on it they would throw a couple calls Dwights way as well.

We should employ every tactic they use. I read an article from MIT Sloan Sports about how players can influence referees calling in favor of another team. Just do what the other team is doing. It takes a few fouls but it usually evens out and takes the ref's out of the game.

Honestly I think DMo is better at this tactic than Dwight. Either way, our team is not using our butts to back into players. It would take a lot of time to determine which team does it more often, but I doubt this is a homer observation. They are a scrappy team if you like them and a dirty team if you don't.

The Rockets don't shoot off of screens nearly as much as the Clippers or Warriors. It's possible that we don't have to shoot off of them to get our role players open threes.
