Both act like kids, but I really hate how Shaq always throws his rings out there like that it just leaves nothing to discussion. alternate link
Chuck is correct in that you can't just be automatically correct because you are loud and obnoxious without being able to have a solid conversation.
I thought it was pretty funny. If Ernie was there it wouldn’t have gone on nearly as long. That weakling they had filling in can’t handle those personalities.
well barkley is wrong once again. uhh DD was playing like trash and deserved to be benched. thats not disrespect. thats just part of the game. if DD is that type to hold a grudge and take it that personally then he shouldn't be your franchise player
Are we just going to ignore that, at the 25 sec mark, Shaq mentioned him and Pat Riley as an example that coaches don't have to get along with their best player? uh, Shaq, get over yourself: You were never Pat Riley's best player. Wish Charles would have said that.
the only good thing to take from this is it's so ridiculously dumb that i think it's unlikely the producers actually scripted it, so at least it's on the real
Charles did say that but it was hard to hear with Shaq yelling over him and not allowing Charles to make his point. It was annoying that Shaq was doing that because what Chuck was saying was a very valid point even if Shaq didn't agree with it. Shaq had gotten better lately on there but his ridiculously thin skin and having to resort to "i won rings your point is invalid" is silly and getting old. FWIW I do agree with Charles here especially given that Demar had spoken up about his own mental issues (Btw major props to Demar for taking a stand and bringing it to light) that Casey does need to have a private talk with him. Each player is different, maybe a player like Shaq doesnt need a "pep-talk" but maybe someone like Demar does. Ernie would have stepped in told shaq to shut up and allow Charles to make a point. You could tell Kenny actually did agree with Charles but didnt want to have Shaq start up his childish routine again.
Barkley has faults, but he seems like a cool guy overall. He'll roll with the jokes when they're at his expense. He's entertaining. Shaq, on the other hand, seems very thin-skinned. Barkley was less successful in basketball yet he seems more confident than Shaq. Also, Shaq was obviously babied. He gained like 75 lbs of fat after leaving Orlando.
Shaq is the worst analyst on TNT, he's extremely insecure and he can't handle jokes Also if you don't turn the volume higher , it sounds like mumble
He did but shaq kept interrupting him. It’s impossible to discuss anything with him. I agreed with both of them to an extent but shaq just ruined the discussion.
what exactly does casey need to talk to him about? benching him before he knows hell actually play poorly. not sure how that makes any sense
I have to agree with Shaq on this one, if coach is benching you for poor play, especially in a critical playoff game -- it is warranted.
Dun like Shaq the analyst but his rings do speak volumes, Barkley just pretends to be correct but more times than not he is wrong. They could replace Shaq but I dun mind him.
Maybe, but there's something to be said for riding with who got you there. DeMar has been money all season.....other players take note of stuff like this. I don't have an issue with benching him.....but you have to show DeMar some respect and talk to him like a man about it. The irony here is that Shaq himself would have probably thrown a Rodney Hood-esque hissy-fit if he had ever gotten benched in a playoff game.
Every night they go on tv there is at least one guy that's never played in the NBA. Most shows have multiple guys that have never played in the NBA. We have shows with female analysts that have never played in the NBA. There's movie critics that can't make movies. There's food critics that can't cook. Having a ring doesn't mean squat here.
