Wow, what a game! I write this as I am on the plane to Portland for game 5. I am proud of our team, down 6 going into the 4th quarter last night did not bode well for us. We are not the greatest comeback team. But we kept on fighting and fighting and never gave up. Our team has amazing will and fight. I was proud to hit the two big three pointers in the 4th quarter. I don't always score a lot of points, but I always pride myself on being at my best in the 4th quarter when the game matters most. We now have 3 games to win one and advance to the second round of the playoffs (for the first time in my career). I don't want to make this a prolonged series and will do my best to win game 5 and advance. It will be tough to beat Portland in Portland, but if we play great defense like we can, I know we have a great chance to win! Plane's taking off, I'll talk to you later Shane Link
Shane is always so humble. Players like Deke, Shane, and Yao are such, SUCH great human beings. We are definitely lucky to have them on our team.
Shane played the best game ive seen him play as a rocket in game 4. He made Roy work to get his points. He also crashed the boards, moved well without the ball, and hit clutch shots. Throw in 6 dimes and that sounds like a pretty complete ball game.
I wonder if he had a chance to write Tracy's blog for him on the plane also. Seriously, he picked the absolute right time to find his jumper again. Those things were not even touching the rim as they dropped through.
so what do you want from him then? do you want him to apologize and write 'I will do better next time' when he did not good? don't be too cynical dude, let's just enjoy the series and cheer that guys.
wtf? shane just got done hitting 2 of the biggest shots of the season, and you post this crap. imho you are a scrub in player evaluation...
His shot his become an absolute beauty, the arch and everything. Is it because his foot problems have gone away?
I remember during one summer league Battier would walk around by himself in cargo shorts, sandles and a t-shirt with his backpack on talking to people that asked him if he was of course Shane and he would smile and shake people's hands. He would literally stop and talk to people for mins at a time. Mind you that these were just college kids or parents, no one of much importance to him. He seemed just like a genuine and down to earth guy. I remember thinking what a outstanding citizen let alone a star NBA player making millions. Then came Gilbert Arenas who drove up in a decked out SUV (big wheels, shiny paint, etc) with music playing as loud as you could from a car speaker. Walked in with a questionable group of men and didn't seem very approachable. Didn't smile, didn't stop to talk to people or even give a hi-5, just a very hollywood like attitude. The sad thing was most of the other NBA players acted the same way. It didn't matter if they were from the US or from other counties, the europeans like Radmanovic also gave a very rude stare at people as if they were above and beyond them. What really gets me is that being in LA now, when they interview Steve Novak, he still mentions Shane as the guy that influenced him and helped him in the NBA. Even when Novak was a rookie, Shane reached out to make him feel welcomed. Needless to say, it's refreshing to know you have a great guy like that on your team.
tired of the nba players that make millions because people pay to see them, yet they won't give anyone the time of day. goes for all celebrities i guess, the ones that think they are above everyone else and need a lesson in humility. sometimes i wish we could just cut all athletes salaries to something like 60K a year... i'm bitter, yes. the pro athlete that makes 100 times what the president of america makes... ugh
