Listen to the interview again. SAS said he’s been to 2 conference finals and 1 NBA finals with OKC, and 2 conference finals with Houston, but has yet to reach an NBA finals.
That was the best interview I have seen from Harden as several have already stated. You can see how comfortable he is in himself and with the team around him. Also interesting how he mentioned having such a large say about building this roster.
I usually call him "Stephen A Stupid." …. but either works. For the record , that was one of the better interviews for SAS.
Kudos to SAS for asking the question about Harden's infamous podium statement "I know exactly what we need to do." And Harden clarified. Get more vets and experience
Sorry, but all I saw was two guys who like each other talk with Harden giving some basic / generic answers and I doubt he’s 100% honest. The part about young teams not winning, Raptors showed that’s not accurate as they had several young guys step up. And last 2 years we’ve had veterans: Shump, Faried, Nene, Ariza, so why are Tyson and Thabo the difference maker? SAS never really followed up on this and really didn’t dig. Harden, you a great player, but I’m just playing basketball and not looking for fouls? Come on now haha Hilarious, he’s going to admit it when he retires though
SAS cornered Harden into guaranteeing a championship but I like that James didn’t back down from it. You can’t at that point. Lean in to the hill.
What younger players is he referring to? The only young players I can think of from last year that actually got some sort of PT is Hartenstein, Clark, and House.
Weren’t they all traded before the deadline though? They weren’t there for playoffs. So Harden saying he knows what needs to be done after losing in the playoffs wouldn’t really include them...unless he was referring to throughout the season. Oh well, who knows lol
