Agreed. The trailers don't do much for me
Some scenes look like they will be nice eye candy (swiming in floating water)
But the story seems to be lacking

Despite the lack of excitement, the minute this movie hits 80-90% on rotten tomatoes, everyone will flock.

 

I was bored and checked it out today. Expected a kinda lame story with two pretty charismatic people in their primes. That's what I got.

Absolutely nothing will surprise you in this movie, it is 100% what you will expect if you have ever seen a movie before.

The leads are good at being leads, and made it watchable despite the predictability. It was tolerable filler with starpower, but don't go in expecting originality.

 

It's at 31%... this looks like a flop.. even worse than Ghostbusters (for Sony).

I just saw this. Wow

It's a combination of Gravity and Event Horizon, but better than both of them put together. Do yourself, friends, and family (bring them) GO see this.

33% damn I grade on a curve for sci/fantasy, and even more so with someone like j. Law. But not going that low. Too bad, looked so awesome.

It was very predictable and straight forward. Not much suspense at all. The only reason to watch is for lots of JLaw side boob.

And Chris Pratt's butt. No homo.

 

Would you consider to be better than...say..."Event Horizon"?

 

Extremely similar to Event Horizon just less blood.

 

Two plot holes I thought.

A) Wake the Crew up u Morons!
B) If everything is backed up, like it should be, they didn't have an extra medical bay?

Thought it interesting that they built all the sets to scale. That must of cost some dollars. Felt like the Shining in the bar scene for sure. Overall I liked the ship itself except for the scenes with the games and danceoffs. The acting was good enough. I didn't mind the plot about him waking her up, as I see that as totally plausible in that situation, and uncomfort level afterward, but they dragged it out extensively. If you have low expectations going in it's not too bad, just ok movie. I'd give it a 4/10 as watchable.

Looks like it raked in 400m total. I reckon that makes it profitable.

You cannot overstate the power of good side-boob. I think I mentioned this in the "Kong Skull Island" thread, but there's a scene in the otherwise forgettable 1976 "King Kong" remake in which Jeff Bridges arrives to rescue Jessica Lange as Kong is distracted by a death match with a giant strangling snake. Jessica's side-boob as she rushes up to Bridges, all split-second of it, made enough of an indelible impression 41 years ago on me that I'm writing about it now.

 

Eh, I wouldn't waste your time. We were blessed to witness The Fappening (praise be to hackers), so it was nothing new and you can save yourself the hour and a half and wank one out in five seconds.
