Your insistence on things without any facts nor its even close to rational, is just fascinating.

If you want to go on, just name any players in the last 3 seasons that the Rockets give away or acquired and lets discuss.

No it wouldn't. Beverly pairs perfectly with harden. Beverly has a friendly contract (actually a cheap contract). I dont see how we can trade fir shumpert straight up I think Rockets can easily get more value if they wanna shop Beverly so with that being said I don't see a reason to help the cavs.

just amazing comprehension on your part, stemming from your claim the rockets going "all in" You're essentially talking to yourself here lol

The Rockets wouldn't trade all those players away.

The Rockets wouldn't blink trading away Ariza and/or Beverley in a deal that brings them an elite player.

This is meaning, of course the Rockets would have to deal good players to get good players. Your whole underlying premise is false.

Capela has more value than Lopez around the league.

You shouldn't "expect" any upgrade. It is unlikely that the Rockets make a big move at this point. It is all dependent on other trades and opportunities becoming available.

Most likely nothing major happens and Morey comes out and talks about how he loves his team when nothing great materializes.

The point is, the idea that the Rockets wouldn't move players like Ariza, Beverley and Capela for an upgrade is false.

The Rockets are not all in. As Yolo says, going all-in would involve trading actual legitimate "core" pieces in an attempt to upgrade, and likely doing so at the expense of future cap management. They might still do that if the right trade came along, but so far they've just traded trash for an improvement on a better contract (same # of years left, less money, better player), which is a no brainer. Trading for Melo would be an all-in move that would be controversial for sure. Trading for Blake Griffin, PG, Butler or the like would be an all-in move that would be less controversial.

Plus, absent the 100% definitive all-in moves, any move DM does will always maintain flexibility.

But they're definitely not all-in here. They're just doing their best to be as competitive as possible while maintaining future flexibility.

I don't think the Rox will get any major trades in the next couple days.

They may make a deal with the Pels for Ajinca if the price is right, but I just don't feel this is a good fit and would hate to lose Harrell.

Actually, I think Morey will pay more attention to the buy out / FA market after the trade deadline,

I won't be surprised that Morey will sign Matt Barnes at all.

Define your definition of all in.

Define the players you can bring in with our current roster and the current assets this team has.

And then we will compare if THAT will be a better team than this current one.

The point is, the idea that the Rockets would move players like Ariza, Bev, or Capela and NOT expecting a MAJOR upgrade is wrong, you only do such thing to damage your chemistry because its a MAJOR (and capital MAJOR) upgrade.

And then, the idea of any teams will trade you their franchise players for such mentioned names, is just plain stupid.

I literally just told you in the post you quoted, right??

DM is only going to trade "core" pieces for an upgrade, clearly. He's not going to trade Eric Gordon for Iman Shumpert, obviously, and wouldn't have trade him for Lou Williams either even though they are comparable. But if he's offered a star player in a Gordon/Ariza package, he'll likely do that deal.

He's never going to "go all in" like the Nets did when they traded for the Celtics aging stars... because that'd be moronic and he knows how to get value in deals... so its pointless even considering that type of "all in".

To be clear, you think he's gone all-in because he traded Brewer for Lou Williams??

All teams make moves expecting great value in return for them. Certainly better value. Do trades happen sometimes where it is equal value going in/out that might just be better fits, or because of attitude problems, sure... but no team is trading multiple core players to a solid team on good contracts and not expect a MAJOR upgrade. It's a point not even worth arguing.

Whether any team will trade their franchise players for such mentioned names depends. Cousins just got moved for seemingly little. Bceause to the Kings it was value in return for what they were looking for. The Rockets just acquired an 18 ppg scorer shooting 40% from 3 for trash because to the Lakers it made sense as they were actively trying to get worse.

Nobody expects a star player back for our "ok" core players, but it doesn't mean because they traded Brewer for Williams that they have gone "all-in".

Frankly, in a world where its impossible to keep even discussions quiet, we've heard rumors of PBev, but nothing of Ariza, and more tellingly nothing of Capela, who is really the best trade chip.

If there is no other trade similar to the Williams deal by the deadline tomorrow, it probably won't be for lack of trying on Morey's part.

As far as Harrell goes, I like him, too, but I'm sure more than a few teams covet what he brings and at a budget. He doesn't get much PT when the other bigs are healthy, anyway. He might be an important throw-in for a player we need. Might.

Oh for sure, the Cavs would have to add in a pick to sweeten the deal.

But I'm also liking that Shump is nearly 3 years younger.

You are still going in circle without even understand your own assumption.

"But if he's offered a star player in a Gordon/Ariza package, he'll likely do that deal. "

So until you see a trade with splash, somehow Morey pull something out of his ass and trade Ariza for Kawhi Leonard.

And then suddenly the Rockets will become all in.

Seriously, pass the thing you are smoking now, bro.

I don't think anyone else reading this thread has any idea what you're arguing or talking about.

Again, to clarify, you are saying the Rockets have gone all-in because they traded Brewer for Lou Williams??

    That makes no sense.

    No ****.

No one thinks that the Rockets are going to unload Beverley/Capela/Ariza for inferior players.

The whole point is that IF the opportunity arises, the Rockets have more assets than the general opinion seems to be if a player becomes available that Morey believes is worth making a deal for. The Rockets also can withstand a trade of multiple players better than past Rocket teams because of our depth and the number of players on the market.

Look I am not the one started to argue here. You are the one whose keep saying the Rockets are not all in because we did not bring in a star player yet.

That's the point and its stupid. Hope now its clear.

IMO, the Rockets is "all in" in the sense of whatever they are having now, and whatever the offers they can find out there with the assets we can have, this is the best they can do.

    No, it would be:
    - KJ, Ennis and Harrell + 2nd round pick and something from LA to Cleveland
    - Brewer, 1st round pick and whatever from Cleveland to LA
    - Shumpert & Lou to Rockets

I don't see it happening though.
