Im a ball player, and i know having a weak ass defender like Ryno on the team is really frustrating! Get him out of the starting line up until he learns or trade him
He has no trade value with his laughably horrible contract so they sort of can't trade him. Sure he plays no defense whatsoever, but they knew that ahead of time. Defense isn't a consideration when your head coach is Mike D'Antoni.
We all know he couldn't guard, what we didn't know was he couldn't shoot and couldn't rebound as well! At least Brewer, Ennis and Brown are scrub players, everybody knew they were scrubs. But Anderson is getting paid 20M, Dekker is totally outplaying him right now, and Dekker hasn't been playing great either. Anderson was brought in to make life easier for Harden, instead he's been bringing the whole team down with how bad he is. I knew he was gonna be overpaid but I'm shocked how badly he's playing, a lot of the defensive lapses are caused by his inability to help on D in the paint, and he's been avoiding contact like a p***y all the opposing PF has to do is be a little physical and Anderson wilts like a ****ing petunia, Barnes and Millsap have been having awful nights but absolutely tore him to shreds. When people say Harden has no help, that's because we paid 20M to Anderson and he's been sucking so badly. Trade him for a pg and let's move on.
The Pelicans saw what a terrible defender he was so they used him as a sole offensive spark-plug as a 6th man.
i feel like when he goes on the injured list we're really going to miss his contributions. to our draft lottery pingpong balls count
In a perfect world that's how the Rockets would use him too, but they don't have the depth for that plus he makes WAY too much money for that role.
He need to shoot his shot much closer.. those long 3 balls are 50/50... and its pain to watch when it clanks out...
He's shot 40% .... To me it's not the shooting that bugs me . Or the defense , he plays ok team d . It's the decision making on offense . He doesn't know when to let it fly , he hesitates too much , he drives with no plan . Ryan should only do two things ;shoot , or immediately pass . We can even let him post up for fades sometimes . Gordon and Ryan have been inconsistent but they've both had good games and bad games . I think they will improve . What killed us tonight was backup c and pg , along with the fact that we decided to play Brewer .
Weird thread. OP Title saying he can't guard 5 positions (who can?), and Rocket_ph saying his long 3s are 50%
I'm fine with Ryan so far. We didn't sign him thinking he would get 10 plus boards a game or block shots. If anyone was waiting on that, you were lied to or wasn't paying attention. He is shooting over 40% on 3s, and it looks bad doing it because of some of the shots he takes or doesn't take. If he starts making better shot selections, he will be deadly. And he can hustle when he wants to, he just has to learn to bring it every night. Even when DMo gets back, assuming he does, DMo will be coming off the bench for several reasons. 1st, he will not be in game shape. 2nd, DMo can get his own shot better and pass better so the 2nd unit obviously needs that more than a 3pt shooter. And 3rd, Ryno is a better rebounder than DMo, although that isn't saying much. DMo will help, but he is not the answer to all this team's problems. Bev will help also, but still not all the answers. We need 1 or 2 more rotation players or upgrades as well to contend, not win it all. Only another superstar or 2 will make us contenders to win it all. That's not happening this year sadly.
