Rudy is more than deserving in my opinion. From his college playing days at Michigan to his time with the Rockets. Of course we all know what he did as a coach winning 2 championships in Houston. Great success as the olympic coach bringing home the gold. Bring him home to the hall!!
This contribution the Basketball should be noted as well https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-changed-nba-offenses/?utm_term=.39ab9c37a492
Lou Carnesecca is in the HOF as well (One final four while at St Johns). John Chaney is in the HOF. Coached Cheyney St to the NCAA div 2 championship in '78 and while at Temple NEVER made it to the final four. If these two guys are in Rudy T should be in!!!!
It’s not even an argument that Rudy T is up there with biggest impact on basketball in the US - NBA and Team USA - as a coach. Not even mentioning his playing days. HOF is a joke anyway so couldn’t care less, but would be happy for him.
Absolutely deserves membership, Rudy T has the records, is articulate, humble, the back to back championships, an Olympic gold medal and those immortal words, "I have one thing to say to those non-believers: Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion."
Let’s not forget he also took a team of unknowns to A Bronze at the World Championships during a lockout. That was a pretty amazing feat in and of itself.
Who votes on this? Who do we need to lobby to get this done? I know nothing about the NBA HOF process.
The basketball hall of fame is a complete sham until Rudy is voted in. Few people have done more in basketball than Rudy.
Guess how many people have the following achievements in basketball: 1.College all star, all American player, team record holder, jersey retired 2.NBA all star, jersey retired 3.Two time NBA champion as the head coach 4.Won Olympic gold medal as the head coach The answer is one.
