They spent a 5th round pick on the guy. They're going to give him every opportunity to win the job. And if he doesn't win the job and they can put in on IR instead of cutting him, they're going to do it and give him every opportunity to win the job again next year. They're not going to bail on a rookie 5th rounder outright if they don't have too.

at least they keep Bullock, Nick Mondek was drafted in the 6th round, and was cut.
I know a lot of 6th and 7th rounders were cut, but I wonder if Bullock was picked in the 6th round and Mondek in the 5th, then you could complain about the texans FO.

I know our special teams coach really liked Hartmann. A lot. Said he had some of the highest potential he has ever seen. Interesting.

Not really, Shiloh Keo was a 5th rounder last year and was cut before the regular season opener, not much was made of it. (he was brought back later though.)

Its different...when you take a kicker in the 5th round, he better damn well be a stud...and good enough to make the team. You dont draft kickers or punters unless you know they will be special.

Probably not even his own leg. Probably not even a leg! Just JJ Watt's wrist or something.

    Oh you clever Kubes...

I did and his biggest weakness from what I saw was Kickoffs. He consistantly gave the other teams opportunties by kicking it to the 10 yard line.

No, he's done for the year. He can be with the team but can't practice or play at any time during the season or postseason.

I haven't even noticed him out there the last 3 preseason games. I hope Lestar Jean or Keshawn Martin takes some of his playing time away. I just saw Jabar Gaffney was cut by the Pats. I much rather have him than Kevin Walter truth be told.
