Raiders cutting the 8th overall pick from 2 years ago. He is young, owed very little money, and under-coached. Had a 100 tackle season his first year and I think having Wade coach him up, he could be a steal off the waiver wire. Your thoughts.
I would like to know more on why the Raiders would cut an inexpensive, high draft pick. Was it an attitude/personality/work-ethic issue (seems like it would have to be)? No reason to throw that into the Texans cohesive locker room.
Id do it in a heartbeat, but he does have baggage, gun arrest at a funeral or something. Not what Texans go for but it is a pressing need and he is talented.
Im sure it was attitude issues but the Raiders are a mess.Im sure he is frustrated matched that with being young and from a winning program like Bama he probably acted out. Im willing to take him and put him on ST for a couple weeks. Better than having NE pick him up for the playoffs.
If the Jags claimed Babin, what makes you think any other team with higher waiver priority won't claim McClain before Houston? Sure, if it somehow worked out, you gotta try it.
The Texans have to pick up a talent like this... even with his attitude and any off the field issues. Gotta take the chance. Doubt they'll get him tho.
Watching him play at Alabama was a treat. I hope he grows up and cuts his off the field actions crap. Maybe a scenery change will do him well? With our depth at LB why not try?
Seems like the kid has attitude issues. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8688668/rolando-mcclain-released-oakland-raiders-according-source
That's not surprising. That still shouldn't keep the Texans from signing him if they have the opportunity to.
