He's worth maintaining control of, and he's probably ready for nba garbage minutes. Hopefully we are including Onuaku in one of these rumored deals. With Zhou Qi, Capela,Nene, and Onuaku, all under contract ...and now Hartenstein; i think someone's got to go. That's too many roster spots for centers.

Speaking of Nene, aren't we overlooking a critical player on last year's team?? Joe Johnson?

(Man, what an ignominious end to a great career.)

Going to be a good solid backup C very soon. I hope we get him on one of those cheapo Zhou Qi long term deals.

It will be a sad day, if Nene retires, but I entirely agree with you. Zhou and Hartenstein have to step
up. They should work in training camp. Zhou needs to go down to
the G-League for a longer period than Hartenstein. Hartenstein is close to taking Tarik Black's place.

I'm glad to hear this and fully expected it.

Hart made solid progress from when we drafted him and played pretty well in the SL. He's a big strong kid, with some AA and skills. Could be a really solid back-up for Clint with some seasoning. I like that he is strong in the paint, has great court awareness for a 20-year old, hits his FTs, and can drive a little.

Still need to see him pass a little better, but he appears to have the instincts, just not much experience with SL group. Also, I'd like to see him look for his shot a little more. Although he's got great size that can be his undoing when he's forced to switch to a quicker player in space. Switching has its disadvantages for big guys (see Ryno tape).

Hartenstein was pretty productive on a per-minute basis in RGV, especially for a 19-year-old.

I'm a little surprised people aren't higher on him, considering how obsessed this board was over D-Mo.

I take it the MLE is for Melo. How do we lock up Hartenstein and Melton for three years each?

Dmo could create his own shot, Hartenstein needs to prove it against the big boys.

More like break glass in case of emergency center. Not ready for 2nd string minutes.

    Think Tarik Black, at best.
