As some have no doubt speculated, this could actually be an indication that either (A) the Rockets have one or more trades already mapped out that do not require Jackson's salary or (B) more likely, the Rockets have exhausted trade avenues that would require Jackson's salary. That, or they're just doing Jackson a solid so that his China opportunity doesn't expire before he can extricate himself from his non-guaranteed contract.
