I’m happy that we unloaded Anderson finally and got a quality player in Knight who can actually provide something for this team. Losing Melton kinda sucks as he genuinely looks like he has some real potential, but this guy will never be an elite talent and Morey can find one of these each draft. Chriss reminds me of when we got T-Rob. Hyper athletic forward with great defensive potential, but will likely never amount to anything. All in all, Morey doing Morey things and turning the 46th pick into an asset saving us “Two 1st round picks” that we would’ve had to use to deal Ryno before the draft.
GREAT trade! Some of y’all are overrating a dude who has never played a meaningful game against legitimate NBA talent. Knight is great CP insurance and Chriss is a good bench player
Chriss is 21 y/o and was the 8th pick two years ago! Seems like the Suns gave up on him real quick. Knight was also the 8th overall pick and when he's been healthy he's been a good scoring role player. I will miss Road Ryno but home and playoff defense makes this move great. Melton looks to have potential but he would have been at RGV so no loss for this season. Overall a good trade that could become great if Chriss can meet the exceptions that many had for him.
WE SAVE $4-5 million a year with this deal! Chriss was a better prospect than Melton ever was! Knight is younger and cheaper than Anderson!
Something interesting about Chriss Only two players who averaged 1 3PM 1 Steal 1.5 Blocks 7 DRB Per 36 last season - Cousins and Chriss Chriss is a pretty versatile player, from what I can see he's a plus defensively, he just needs to tighten up his offensive game. Chriss turned 21 two months ago, is 6'10 240 with a 7'1 wingspan.
I was high on Melton. I doubt Chris or Knight will contribute but theyre much more movable at the deadline. As others have said, being in high on Melton is no different than being high on Lamb, Donte Green etc
Thomas Robinson, Stromile Swift, Tyrus Thomas, Anthony Randolph Dear Marquease Chriss, Don't be like these guys.
Look at it this way. We got two players who can get minutes this year and traded two players who prolly wouldn’t get minutes this year
Man, I love Dudley. He saw that his guy got fouled in that dunk attempt and got his teammates's back.
Maybe that huge slam Ryan put down on them last year stuck in their minds... I don't really understand why Phoenix does this trade to be honest.
I am not sure if we could have won WCF game 6 or 7 if Knight were on our team, but we all know that we were just one CP3 insurance away from the ring last year.
So... I'm guessing this is why we weren't willing to give up Melton for James Johnson. Also... Phoenix lookin realllllllll good for the next few years.
I understand wanting to be a clear winner in the trade, but a little weird to hope that a guy's career burns out, just because we traded him. I will be hoping for him to be everything he looked like he can become from his showing this summer.
