Rockets terminate two-way contract with Demetrius Jackson

    The Rockets have terminated their two-way contract with guard Demetrius Jackson, a person with knowledge of the deal said.

    Jackson will sign a 10-day contract with the Rockets, but is not expected to join the team during that period. The Rockets plan to have Jackson remain with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and to play in the G League Showcase, the individual with knowledge of the Rockets’ plans said.

    Jackson played in 12 games with the Rockets, averaging 4.6 points. He had used most of his 45 days permitted with the team before the Rockets would have had to keep him in the G League or convert his two-way contract to a standard NBA contract.

    Guard Briante’ Weber, who is also signed to a two-way contract, has been in the Rockets’ rotation since the injury to James Harden, limiting any opportunities Jackson would have had with the Rockets. A 10-day contract would allow Jackson to be with the Vipers through the G League Showcase that teams use to evaluate prospects next week in Mississauga, Ontario.

    Getting that spot ready for Bogut? God I hope so. Still great D + rebounding and shooting 69 TS% on the year in a stunted as hell offense. He would look much closer to Warriors Bogut than many think.

    Big time. I’d be shocked if Bogut signs with us. CP3 is probably pushing for Tyson Chandler behind the scenes instead.

    Cutting Brown and now Jackson leaves them with only Paul, Harden and Weber at PG.

    Weber is only allowed to play so many games while on the two way contract, so he will be gone soon, too.

    There must be another move in the works for a PG.

    Most of us would say having Jackson, Brown and Weber on the roster still left them with only Harden and Paul at PG.

    Our focus and obsession is beating the Warriors apparently.

    That Warriors locker room is rolling on the floor laughing at the fact that the Rockets think they can beat them with Briante freaking Weber getting rotation minutes.

    We desperately need an upgrade at guard and center if we have any dream of beating the Warriors in the playoffs.

    Hopefully Morey has more tricks up his sleeve. :eek:o_O

    Canaan is basically trash. Can’t run a team or defend. At least Briante can defend.

    Already plan to re-sign Bobby Brown, really? I mean this with all my heart, if you rather give a spot on the roster away to a friend who cannot play very well than to a guy who could actually make the rotation and truly prevent Morey from making a move for the sake of Bobby freaking Brown, you do not deserve to win. I'm looking at Harden, CP3 and whoever else is friends with the guy.
