He has a nice package of size + athleticism, but what surprises me a little bit is the ball handling he shows at 0:29, not bad for a player of that profile. For instance, Ariza can't do that. Grizzlies fans spoke very good of his motor. His shooting stroke does not look that bad, should become a decent shooter with time and repetition. Honestly... including what I've seen from him in a couple of games with Memphis, I would say he looks like a 1st round prospect...
Troy is 22 years old, essentialy just starting off. Love his potential. This is the typical Morey find in the D-League who after some seasoning may become a real NBA player. Better yet, in a position that we need.
I do too. I was shocked to find out he went undrafted. He has a good pedigree coming from Oak Hill and then Indiana in college. He may not be a great 3 pt shooter yet, but he has good range/form and decent accuracy; he just needs to raise his level of precision through reps to get the percentage up. However, what he does have are good instincts and passing ability. A creator from the wing spot Good ceiling comparison would be Iggy for GS(hopefully without the foot in mouth statements!), not comparable to Iggy in Philly though as of yet.
Think about it logically, if everything that's being said about him is true, why would he be undrafted and then signed and then waived? This guy will need the rest of this season, all offseason and part of next season to starting hitting 33-34% of his 3's imo. He's a 22 year old Corey Brewer on an appropriate contract. Works fine for 5 minutes a night. His future depends on his coachability. If he picks up on defensive footwork and 3pt shooting, might even develop into a starter. He's not undersized at the 3 in today's NBA, has all the tools to succeed.
Yeah I noticed that too. It looks like he put some weight back on after dropping a bunch, which would suck. The dude is already an NBA player, just in bad shape. Maybe it's medical who knows, hope he is in great shape for next training camp.
Well, we got a roster spot, don't we? Sign him for the rest of the season. This guy could be key, I tell ya!
From the Vipers game (3-12-17). Troy Williams with 2 late misses (a fall away mid range jumper! and reverse layup off a fantastic outlet by Onuaku). Vipers fall 120-116 to Canton. Still trying to figure this move out by the Rockets. Also, is Tokoto hurt? He hasn't played the last 2 games. Williams highlights below. Pretty explosive off the dribble, adequate shooter, can really finish, pure straight line driver. Great in the highlights.
