I have to say...the use of the full MLE...is really head scratching...there has to be another move in the works...or this really makes zero sense...

He just turned 24 last week.

 

That's a lot of damn money for a second round pick, even if he has impressed since then.

It feels a little like waving the white flag on the season to me, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if your core is not ready to contend this season.

Still, I question, when are we all in? You have to pull the trigger at some point, or your stars will leave/decline/spectacularly flame out Yao-TMac style.

 

I wouldn't mind if they went after Nazr Mohammed (if his asking price is reasonable), we need somebody when Dwight is getting rest or is having foul trouble.

Pap is essentially a 3&D wing that can move to the 4 in small ball lineups. If we pick-up his team option, then we will have early-bird rights on him (up to 175% over 4 years).

Defense was obviously a priority this offseason. Now need a defensive coach.
