Rockets Scoreboard Operators' Mistake Costs Rockets a Point Versus the Lakers

Did anyone else notice this? The Rockets scoreboard operators were absolutely horrible during this game. Many times, the wrong team would be credited with a score, only to be later corrected. And many times the jumbotron scoreboard and side scoreboards were way off from one another for long periods.

There was one instance in the 2nd quarter where they screwed up and did not get it corrected. And it may have cost the Rockets the game.

The Rockets had just cut the Laker lead to 7 with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd period. The Lakers then came down and hit a 3 pointer on the next possession. The scoreboard operator credited the Lakers with 4 points instead of 3, making the score 54-43 Lakers instead of 53-43 as it should have been.

I watched this very closely and it was never corrected to the best of my knowledge.

So, in my mind, this game should have been tied at the end of regulation. Did anyone else observe this?

There is no excuse for this kind of ineptitude from the scoreboard personnel for an NBA basketball game.

If it really happened they will make the teams play an overtime.

I'd rather not blame the scoreboard keepers, how about we focus on the perimeter defense or the lack of which was the reason the Lakers were in the game in the first place.

It is a sad day to be a Rockets fan when instead of blaming defense/free throws or even the refs that we go on to blame the scoreboard operators.

I thought that they also got a def 3 second FT during that time though could be wrong.

    Quit pointing fingers.

    Blame no one but yourself.

Well, more like, blame our team.

Did anyone notice that in every home game at Toyota Center, at least once the shot clock doesn't start? Is bit a problem with the equipment, or is it an operator who is t blame?

I heard the scoreboard operators go for a drinks break when Howard is shooting free throws.

Oh i'm not disputing that, i'm just saying it shouldn't have gone down to the score keeper making a 1pt mistake (if they did) to be the reason why we were beaten by a team we should have dominated from the get go.

Has there ever been a situation where the score keeper was wrong and a eventual overtime was played? That is very unheard of. hmmmmmmm
