$160M bet for a chip or two? Even though it's not my money, I'll do it. I am sure many franchises would like to be in this betting position.

Chris Paul's leadership and mental toughness is worth his contract. He is ready to go to war next season. It's nice to know our team has a punchers chance in any playoff meeting. Let's Run it back.

My god, this deal gets worse and worse. Guess the injuries are not that big of a deal with a guy like him than Luc. Watch 40 million sit on the bench a lot over the next few years.

I find it interesting and not surprising that OKC is getting all the credit in the world for being able to re-sign Paul George, while the Rockets are apparently having a disastrous offseason even though they were able to quietly re-sign Chris Paul, who is a better, more impactful player.

Just read how The Ringer writer phrases the re-signing:

Because Paul George is in his prime and signed for less money. That and they convinced PG to stay even after being told by his agent he'd be going to LA after one season.

Yes, but my point is juxtaposing how the media is handling OKC's accomplishment with ours, even though re-signing CP3 is a really big deal and will keep us relevant for years.

It really isn't a big deal. Paul never expressed wanting to leave. He's 33 and we could give him more money than any other contending team in the NBA could. IT was a forgone conclusion he'd come back and get his $40 mil a year. Just like it was a forgone conclusion Melo would opt in to his final year.

Tbf they resigned all their players and added Noel, Melo is gone but might not be a bad thing for them, meanwhile we are a older roster with one of our two stars being injury prone, we lost Ariza and Luc adding Ennis and Melo so, i can see why they're saying that.

Personally, i'm still not sure we'll be worse, i'm not a fan of Melo but i also think he has some upside here, if he's not going to work in this enviroment it really means he sucks. Ennis is a nice pickup but still a downgrade over Ariza and probably a bit over Luc too.

With that said, the Rockets are always underrated, when we lost Parsons we were going to miss the playoffs -> got in the conference finals...when we lost Dwight we were going fight for the 8th seed -> got the 2nd seed...Paul and Harden were not going to work together -> we were one injury away from winning the championship...so, yeah.

The Ringer writers are really underrating the Westbrick black hole negative energy that impacts his teammates, which is surprising since their boss Bill Simmons has been emphasizing it more than anyone else.

It should surprise no one if Melo has a bounce back year next season now that he has escaped Westbrick.

Morey had no choice, but I'm still not happy about it.

Yeah, that's what i hope, i think this is a perfect enviroment for Melo to give the best he has at this point, let's hope he's not going to be a letdown.

For those unhappy we gave CP that contract, I understand but you're overreacting. Chris Paul brings a FACE to the franchise and winning culture that'll translate throughout the organization into the lockeroom. He'll be the next Calvin Murphy. The guy that becomes a beloved figure after he retires. He'll also extend Harden's prime by taking away pressure off him some games. This move had to be done and I'm glad we did it

I pray every night Dtony wises up and rest CP3 a good amount and let our rookies grow and build a little confidence

If we are playing a trash team Melton & Zhou should get solid minutes while CP3, PJ, Gordon rest a little when games dont matter. I respect the spurs cause they chase seeding and let the young boys play in the regular season

Number one seed isn’t important this year. We already proved whomwew are and what we’re capable of when we’re bealthy. Dantony ain’t Pops but I hope he takes a more conservative approach to the regular season. We got our one seed and James got his mvp. There’s nothin left to prove in the regular season.
