Rockets losing out on quality assistants because of MDA uncertainty?

    With the Lakers hiring Lionel Hollins and Avery Johnson interviewing with the Sixers for an assistant position do you think the Rockets will lose out on quality assistant coaches because of Mike D'Antoni's lame duck status?? I always thought this would be an issue going forward as nobody would wanna work under a lame duck coach as they would be a lame duck as well.

    i'm not sure any prospective candidates want to succumb to the incentive-based contract structure either :D

    the rockets are probably looking for the next head coach. I don't think we're missing out on any assistants.

    Nah those coaches blow... We don’t need old school tards in this organization trying to shoot long twos. Also, with old ass Mike at the helm, I wouldn’t be mad If we hired some spunky young assistants to bring the energy. Also, If Nene is gone we need to get some more sausage in the locker room. We lost some heavy duty sausage when Roy left too.

    Time to hire Calvin/Vernon/Dream/Elie/Cassell and let Nene destroy the wiener walls on his way out.

    No one said MDA was lame duck and last I checked Tily wants T. Lue as an assistant/successor and he hasn't signed with anyone yet

    Our GLeague team just won the championship. Promote RGV coaches to assistant coaches for the Rockets. Since they are used to player development, let them work mainly with Capela, Hartenstein, House, and Clark.

    Since it doesn't look like we're willing to trade Paul's awful contract to get better players, our young guys are going to have to step up.

    what was the point of firing all the assistants again? if we are keeping Mike D why fire his staff ? i dont like reactionary emotional moves like this. if you want mike out then just fire him. i dont see why we are doing things this way.

    As a laker assistant, Jason Kidd salary is 6.5 million a year. It makes sense to pay ty lue. 7 million a year as an assistant.

    Called it a week back. What kind of sought-after assistant is going to want to be a on a lame duck staff under the stingiest contender in basketball?

    It's not like we're the Bucks, everyone knows this is a very profitable franchise to own even if we don't win it all and even after repaying the debt on the loan.
