Morey didnt veto it. Lakers pulled out. And now you're on the other side of this, glad the deal didnt go through? I thought you wanted this deal to happen?
Not after this news that Lowry would have been apart of this deal. If you trading Lowry, Martin, Scola, young talent and a couple picks, you expecting to receive Dwight Howard or LeBron James, not Pau Gasol. Who would Gasol play with?
Wow..Why are they asking all the players that belonged to Rockets? Why not Lakers giving up some of their players. We have to trade 3 of our starters for Paul Gasol? I will only do that for a few players in this league. For Lebron, Wade, Dwight, Durant, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Blake Griffin, Derek Rose are the only players I will gut my team for.
Stern only cares about 8 damn teams. He's turning this league into mlb. Minnesota has had the highest % chance of winning the lottery a million times but has never actually won it. Wonder why?
The reported Clippers trade proposal makes me puke. How Stern can accept it is beyond me, unless he wants both LA markets to be relevant.
Eric Bledsoe, Chris Kamen, Al-furuq Aminu and a 1st round pick or.... Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, Lamar Odom, 1st and 2nd round picks. These two deals are not even comparable! If I don't read or hear that Stern has rejected the deal the someone needs to take the David Stern to court. He was clearly asking for the world and then some from the Rockets.
Here....we...go...again... Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Would Morey venture into Sternworld again? http://twitter.com/#!/ESPNSteinLine/status/146782294307385345
Would signing Reggie Williams makes CLee expendable? Scola, Martin, Budinger, CLee and 2012 NYK#1 along with say McRoberts who the Lakers just signed be enough to get Pau here and Paul in LA?
It would be nice to go back to plan A, however I'm not too sure whether we can dump enough 'young guys' to make it worth it. You would have to include Scola and the NY 1st pick. Optional: - Patterson - Lee - TWill - Hill - Flynn - Thabeet (expiring contract most probably useful for making up $) - Morris (However, can't traded for 30 days I believe) - Dragic (Very likely based on the previous nixed trade) - Martin (Unlikely, since they don't want expensive contracts, and Scola's contract would be more than enough for them even though he is a productive player) Untouchable (unless more than Pau is coming back e.g. CP3): - Lowry However, it looks like Nene is off the market and signed with the Nuggets.
Maybe Morey knew about this so he's trying to sign a SG and backup PG for a reason? Now that Lakers finally got a pick from Odom trade, they can send that pick to New Orleans? We could theoritically offer the same package minus Scola and send some youth like Patterson or Lee?
